Little Lon Distilling Co is a Gin Distillery which operates from Melbourne CBD's only surviving single story cottage. It also happens to be a former house of ill repute. You will hear stories of the cottage's former inhabitants, sourced from original police files.

My partner and I were visiting Melbourne from Adelaide this week for our Birthdays and decided to book this tour. Michael was an amazing tour guide and one of the nicest blokes I met. His knowledge of historic crime and criminals within Melbourne is by far the best i’ve heard after being on a few other tours in Melbourne and other cities. The time and dedication he has spent to make this tour 100% factual and entertaining was great, he had our full attention the entire 2 hour tour. Michael took great care in making sure people on the tour were okay with some of the subjects he spoke about and gave warnings when some things on the tour said by some of the “Characters” running Little lon at the time may be offensive. He listened to all our questions and didn’t make any question seem like a stupid one, he explained things in more detail if you asked or didn’t understand it the first time. My partner and I have been talking about the tour and the stories he told all day after the tour and have told and recommended to our friends if they ever come to Melbourne. Unfortunately we ran out of time and couldn’t go on the Fitzroy tour but next time we are in Melbourne we will 100% be booking that tour. Before booking this tour, I wasn't sure that I would find it very spectacular, however it really was a fantastic experience. I expected it to be a bit more architecturally focused, however the in-depth review of the characters, supported by Michael's personal and painstaking research, was fascinating. The other key feature was the way he managed to integrate a large number of individual stories, while still allowing the newcomer to see the threads all aligned at the end. I also had my 13yo son who really enjoyed it (the content isn't that x-rated, so I don't think it is a problem to have younger kids along).Amazing tour!! Loved the knowledge of the tour guide. You can tell he really loves what he does and knew about the funny relationships and things that occurred during the time. Definately recommend!
