This is a typical itinerary for this product
Stop At: Masaya Volcano, Masaya 42200 Nicaragua
Our first stop will be at a visitor center where information will be deliver of the history and geology of the volcano. Later we will drive to the summit of the volcano where we have the option to hike for 30 minutes and a different angle of the active crater and see a dormant crater too. Later with the sunset we will have the opportunity to see and hear the colony of Parakeet coming back to the wall of the active crater and nest . Now is the best time to see the movement of the magma flowing and bubbling.

I booked 3 separate tours with Gerald. Before finding Gerald, it was difficult finding tours in Nicaragua. He was the only one who got back to me and helped me tailor the tours to my needs. I tagged along on my husband’s business trip and decided to explore Nicaragua by myself on tours. On the first day, Gerald picked me up from the airport and was very flexible, understanding and accommodating since my flight was delayed getting in. He gave me a city tour of Managua and ended the day exploring Masaya Volcano. Gerald is very intelligent and shared his vast knowledge of the country’s history and current socio-political climate. I learned so much about Nicaragua on the first day! On the second day, we started bright and early to hike Centro Negro. I wanted to sand board down the volcano and Gerald was kind enough to carry the board for me as we did the hike. He took great pictures and videos to document such a unique moment! We had lunch at a great grill spot on the beach and moved on to a beautiful tour of Leon where I got to climb the main cathedral and take in the beautiful 360 sight of the area. On the third day, we did a city tour of Granada, did a little shopping at the souvenir shop, and visited speciality shops to get wooden bowls and cigars. It was a pleasure meeting all of the shop owners. We ended the day on a relaxing boat ride along Lake Nicaragua. I truly do not think I would’ve enjoyed Nicaragua without Gerald’s help, expertise, and love of the country. I absolutely enjoyed my time and would recommend him to anyone visiting!milepanbg

Gerald was an excellent host, could not be more friendly, honest, and knowledgeable. He taught us all about Nicaraguan history on our drive, gave us a top-notch walkthrough of the visitors center, and (luckily!) provided us a quiet and clear view of the crater after we waited out some rain clouds...

This tour was really amazing and the highlight of my recent trip to Nicaragua. Gerald was my tour guide and he reached out ahead of time to confirm pick-up time and location. On the way to the national park we conversed about a variety of topics as he is very friendly and personable. Once at the park he proved to be extremely knowledgeable about the environment including the plants, animals and volcano. After a short time at the visitor center we completed the drive to the crater. The volcano is so cool and in my opinion even more impressive at night! To be so close to the rim and look down into the crater and see and hear the magma is something you must see with your own eyes and ears! It's really hard to describe with words, you have to experience it! Fantastic tour, thank you!leciel83

Travelled to Managua by myself, considered the news about the security, there was indeed a second thought before coming. I have done some research on TripAdvisor and found Gerald and his service. I emailed him and he replied quickly. We have set up the tour and here I come. Gerald was there at the airport to pick me up on time and sent me to the hotel on day 1. I signed up to the Managua city tour plus volcano tour the next day. But as the city tour starts in the afternoon and I had nothing to do in the morning, I checked with Gerald to see whether we can add anything in the morning. He recommended to have the Managua tour in the morning then Grenada tour and finally the volcano night tour. The tours were great and extremely memorable. Managua and Grenada are both safe to walk around and Gerald took me to different tourist sites and also projects to save animals and cafe that is served by handicap people. The evening tour to the volcano is an once in a life time experience. It was truly amazing to see the lava wave. So I highly recommend Gerald as your tour guide if you decide to come and visit the lovely country or Nicaragua!
