What to expect
At the beginning of each lesson our coaches will give you all the information you need to have you feeling assured before even getting into the water. We teach you about the waves, rips, potential hazards and surfing etiquette. Then techniques on how to carry your board, attach your leg rope, paddle for a wave and stand up. Once in the water, your coach will assist you with wave selection and help you balance as you get a feel for paddling and standing up on the waves. Your coach will be with you every step of the way to make sure you feel safe and get the best advice for a top quality lesson.

In 2 hours, Matt had my not-so-confident 11 year old daughter (who rarely goes to the beach) riding the waves and actually standing up on her board! He was very patient with her and you can tell he enjoys his job. She now can't wait for her next lesson! Thanks so much Matt!...... I would recomme...

We booked a group surf lesson for our 10 year old son (the minimum age). The session was excellent and we couldn't have wished for better. We were met with friendly, motivated and professional staff from the very beginning. A quick wetsuit fit and then a surfboard was allocated. The location at Redgate beach is perfect and the waves were certainly big enough, even in the shallow water. Our son had a blast and wants to go back again to hire a surfboard to keep practising! There were 3 staff in the water the entire time with approximately 12 other students. The staff are constantly helping everyone ensuring that every 3 or 4 waves each student is guided on their surfboard with a staff member guiding them from the back (holding on the surfboard for stability). By the end of the lesson our son was able to stand up unaided. Even at the end of the lesson I went to tie up the surfboard leash and was getting ready to carry the surfboard back to the van, however, one of the staff members insisted that my son must do that to help his learning which was great! Thanks again!Mat and Zack provided a professional, safe and funny surfing experience for the whole family! Highly recommended.
