Overview
The kayaking adventure continues with a search for playful dolphins, often fishing actively nearby. As if beholding these majestic mammals in their element isn’t enough, you’ll likely enjoy many other Florida natives including pelicans, osprey, roseate spoonbills, horseshoe crabs, and even the occasional gator.
As visitors in the manatee’s natural habitat, you can expect to observe and study the famed Sea Cows. Keep in mind that we seek not to disturb, overwhelm, or disrupt the manatee’s natural behaviors, but rather let you experience them on their terms.

What to expect
It’s an encounter unlike any other as you spend the morning floating gently in the endangered manatee’s favorite lounging spots on the Merritt Island National Wildlife Refuge. These friendly Florida herbivores just love to nuzzle, grip, and cuddle your kayak for a truly magical morning.

- Not wheelchair accessible
- What to bring:
- Clothes you don’t mind getting a little wet. Towel (left in car)
- Water Shoes – sandals or Crocs that can be worn in the water
- Bring an extra change of clothes just in case
- Near public transportation
- Infants must sit on laps
- Camera & Dry bag (optional) These are fairly useless to capture bioluminescence, but great for capturing people.
- Bottled water, Snacks
- Any special personal paddling gear if you like
- You may bring a flashlight, though we will provide a safety light.
- Not recommended for travelers with back problems
- Travelers should have a moderate physical fitness level
- This tour/activity will have a maximum of 42 travelers

Highly recommend this simple kayaking adventure - just enough paddling to give you the kayak experience accompanied by encounters with manatees. Our guide Alex was fantastic. So fun, knowledgeable and helpful for myself and 2 young children on this tour. He made our trip relaxing (even though my youngest daughter “forgot” how to paddle once we got close to the manatees lol. He made her feel confident and safe and always with a smile. I booked this tour for my daughter and I as a special Daddy/Daughter day. The tour was first rate and better than expected. Our tour guide Alex was skilled, knowledgeable and very ENTERTAINING! He was great and he kept the tour interesting from start to finish! Sutton was our other guide who kept the group together from the back and jumped into action to help one of the patrons who was struggling to keep up and keep their kayak on the top side of the water. The tour guides were professional and safety minded with back up personnel ready to assist so everyone could get back on track and enjoy the tour. The wildlife was abundant and we saw manatees, dolphins, countless species of birds, raccoons, and tons of natural plant life. The finale was the bioluminescent Dinoflagellates and moon jellies after dark. Our guides, Alex and Sutton found some large jellies and showed the group how to activate the bioluminescent creatures with “hand tricks” and small nets. The experience was amazing and the perfect way to spend a day with my daughter! Too notch! We did this Trip with our Guide Harrison in the morning and it was fantastic. We had a great start and just after we were sitting in the Kayaks a dolphin swam by and splashed a lady in our 3 people tour. We saw many Manatees and Dolphins and as we were all experienced kayakers we went to Bird Island with hundreds of birds. You could see Harrison is doing this guiding with passion and as a local he knows the area and nature very well and dhares his knowledge with the participants. The Tour is primarily to see the animals close and really suitable for all, if kayaked before or not.Saw manatees, porpoises, and a large alligator up close.
