Stop At: Majdanek State Museum, Droga Meczennikow Majdanka 67, Lublin 20-325 Poland
Majdanek Nazi German Concentration and Extermination Camp is located just outside of the city. In Nazi plans it was supposed to be bigger than infamous Auschwitz and become slave labour source for creating new empire on the east. Exceedingly strict conditions in prison are symbolized right at the camp's entrance by impressive monument located in a place of the former front gate. A walk among remains of camp barracks with exhibitions inside, well preserved crematory building or gas chamber and gigantic Mausoleum with ashes of Majdanek victims – all of this fills visitors with sorrow and reflection.
Duration: 2 hours
Stop At: Lublin Old Town, Lublin Poland
During its golden ages Lublin was a very wealthy city, full with aristocracy impressive palaces, amazing sacral architecture and tenement houses. It was called “Vienna of the North”. Stroll through narrow, cobbled streets of Old Town, picturesquely located on the hill. It allows to almost breath in the history. Majestic buildings from many different ages spread around the area create an unique atmosphere. Without a doubt Lublin is the most beautiful city in east part of Poland and very much worth visiting.

We recently had the opportunity to go on a private tour of Majdanek and Lublin with Marcin Hilgier. We found Marcin to be extremely knowledgeable, professional, and personable. He was compassionate and understanding while touring Majdanek and presented the history of the camp and what happened there in a special and touching manner. Going to Lublin and learning about the city was an ideal way to end the tour. It was all a memorable experience!Majdanek Concentration Camp & Lublin Full Day Private Tour from Warsaw was a very special tour. Majdanek Concentration Camp & Lublin Full Day Private Tour from Warsaw was a very special tour. Our guide Marcin, who accompanied us on the tour, is really very good in this regard. One of the most important criteria for me about the guide is that its English is understandable. Marcin was the perfect guide for me in this respect. I understood everything he said word for word. We also benefited greatly from his knowledge. We learned and shared a lot about the camps, Poland and daily matters. He is a very good communicator. I highly recommend both the tour and Marcin.Marcin is a brilliant guide. From the moment he picked us up at our hotel to our return 10 hours later he was great company. Marcin is a brilliant guide. From the moment he picked us up at our hotel to our return 10 hours later he was great company. His knowledge of Polish history is immense and added greatly to our understanding of how the Jewish population in Warsaw was so large and its almost entire eradication by the Nazis. it is approximately 2.5 hours by car to Majdanek but Marcin filled the time with many facts and answered all our questions about a whole range of issues up to the present day. We have visited other concentration camps and Majdanek is very well preserved. When reflecting on the things that took place in the camp the silence which now prevails is deafening. Marcin has all the facts to hand about the camp, its inhabitants and daily life. He also gave us some time to ourselves and our personal thoughts as we moved towards the end of our time there. The memorial to all those that died in the camp contains a visible mound of ashes of an estimated 20000 souls and it is very moving. Upon leaving the camp we took the short journey to the nearby town of Lublin. We had a very interesting walk around the Old Town which has some amazing historical buildings. We came across a large beer delivery lorry which did its best to squeeze under a 15th century arch which resulted in chunks being taken out of it whilst a local policeman looked on! We had lunch of Polish dumplings which were excellent but such was the amount we skipped dinner that night. This tour is expensive but Marcin makes it so worthwhile and is good value for a very full day. Thanks Marcin for your knowledge and friendliness plus our introduction to fig flavoured Vodka! Well you are in Poland after all.!!Me and my husband had a great trip to Majdanek. It was moving to see and experience these horrible historical remains. Me and my husband had a great trip to Majdanek. It was moving to see and experience these horrible historical remains. Our private guide Marcin was friendly and talkative throughout the trip. He had a lot of knowledge, which definitely helped to make the trip better. It was also good that we also had time to go and experience a bit for ourselves. The trip ended with a trip to Lublin, a very nice town, where we also had a good meal in a local restaurant.I have seen several former concentration camps, but this one was the best preserved. I have seen several former concentration camps, but this one was the best preserved. Marcian was the perfect tour guide, as he had in-depth knowledge of the camp as well as the political history surrounding it. I was surprised to learn that the camp was preserved, in part, because the Soviets used it as a prison after repelling the Germans. The Polish people have a long and proud history of defending themselves against aggressors. This was a powerful reminder of how humanity needs to stand together. Excellent tour; great conversation; tasty, local food; and highly recommended.Visited Majdanek & Lublin on 4/02/23 Excellent trip which I would highly recommend the guide was Professional and Excellent informative and friendly the vehicle was modern clean and in good condition the tour was excellently conducted from start to finished there was plenty to see and do & I lear...
