Overview
Get to know Mineral de Pozos! Place where you can still appreciate the remains of what was a large wealthy town thanks to its mining industry. Currently its imposing buildings show us the solitude of a sad decadence, abandoned over time. Pozos was founded in 1576 to protect the Chichimecas silver route. Because it was very difficult to civilize this indigenous group, this work was commissioned to the Jesuits who realized the wealth found in the minerals of this area and taught
These people techniques to extract and exploit metals. Wells has had several periods of wealth, but the day came when the minerals ran out and this Ghost Town was left for the admiration of adventurous visitors;
Visit the Jesuit Furnaces, the Mine and Hacienda of the Five Lords and that of Santa Brígida, The Temple of the Lord of the Works, the Model School, the Church of San Pedro, among other places.
