Captain Ago has many different boats, and I splurged a little by getting a cabin cruiser. I'm glad I did. The seas are a bit choppy along the coast, and I was told we had a relatively calm day. A smaller boat would have been a lot less comfortable. I can't say enough about our captain (Francisco)...
Captain Ago has many different boats, and I splurged a little by getting a cabin cruiser. I'm glad I did. The seas are a bit choppy along the coast, and I was told we had a relatively calm day. A smaller boat would have been a lot less comfortable. I can't say enough about our captain (Francisco) and the mate (Manuel). They tailored the entire day to our wishes, and gave great advice about things to avoid, such as the madhouse at the Blue Grotto (although he was perfectly willing to stop if we wished). The day was perfect and the two of them couldn't have treated us better. My advice, splurge on this part of the vacation. These memories of family time together will last a lifetime, and thank you again to the crew.Lydia V

Wow, what an adventure! From start to finish, Ivan provided the experience of a lifetime. I had done my research for months before traveling to Italy. However, I ran out of time to scrutinize which specific company to use for our Amalfi Coast boat tour. Ivan was informative, personable, considerate, professional and witty. My husband and I are very particular, and we ended up finding this boat trip to be the highlight of our ENTIRE, memorable Italy trip. Seeing the Amalfi Coast from the water is a must if you visit. We did a semi private yacht along the Amalfi coast with a stop in Capri. Salvatore was our captain and he was so nice and a lot of fun. We stopped to go swimming a couple of times in the most amazing colored water.

My family of six chartered a cabin boat with captain for the day in mid-October, and the adventure was the highlight of our trip. Making arrangements with Serena was so easy, and she patiently answered my many questions. Our Captain, Patrizio, met us at the pier in Amalfi, which was very convenient given that we were staying in Atrani. He was very welcoming and helped get us settled. After a brief orientation to the boat, we were on our way for an 8-hour cruise. Patrizio gave us the space to spend time with each other, and he knew the perfect times to narrate what we were seeing. He took us east past Maiori and into Pandora's cave (the coolest!), and then back west to Positano. Patrizio shared history and information about the sites, and he was very helpful in answering all of our questions about the area and the sea. He offered complimentary water and soft drinks, and after we were on the water for a while, he offered Prosecco for just a small extra cost. We went swimming outside of Positano, an Patrizio offered towels and showers when we were done -- he even had swim noodles to use if one wanted. He dropped us off at one of the beaches at Positano where we had a nice, light lunch at a beach café. The beach staff then gave us a ride by small boat over to the center of Positano so that we could have some time for wandering and gelato. We called Patrizio when we were ready to be picked up. After lunch, we had probably spent about a 45 minutes or an hour in Positano. On the cruise back to Amalfi, we went further out into the sea to get a closer view of the Galli Islands. While many in our group took this as a great opportunity to snooze on the bow of the boat, Patrizio offered me a fishing line so that we could try our luck at catching dinner. Even without succeeding in catching my own dinner while on the cruise, this was a perfect way with our family. The price for the cabin boat through Amalfi Boat Excursions was a little pricier than some of the other companies we contacted, and I have no regrets about spending a bit more. We were drawn to the company based on the strong reviews, particularly regarding the professionalism of the captains. Our experience was even better than we had hoped, and I highly recommend the company to others looking for a lovely day on the water.Camilla H

Ivan provides excellent service on a beautiful boat built for very comfortable cruising on the Amalfi Coast. He showed us beautiful spots and explained the sites and buildings and the historical significance associated with them (in English!). He had a cooler full of drinks and fruit for us to snack on, and he took beautiful photos of our family while we enjoyed our boating activities. We were able to totally customize our time, we stopped several times to swim in grottos/caves/waterfalls, stopped for lunch and exploring one of the towns and satisfied the requests of our multi-generational family with grandparent, adults and teenagers - everyone was very happy with our day with Ivan! Avoid the ferry boat crowds and the boats offered at the tourist trap stands - you can confidently book a private charter with Ivan and truly relax and enjoy the beauty of the Amalfi with a wonderful local guide.
