Overview
Wrestling is a mixture of sport and theatrical sequences that in Mexico is the most popular sport-show, only below football. Mexican wrestling is characterized by its styles of rapid submissions and high acrobatics, as well as dangerous jumps out of the ring; A large part of these movements have been adopted outside of Mexico. Many of their fighters are masked, that is, they use a mask to hide their true identity and create an image that gives them a special personality.

Last night, we embarked on a wonderful evening with our very friendly and knowledgeable guide, Susana. From the moment we met at our Airbnb, she felt like a friend guiding us through her city, proud to explain what makes Puebla special. We began with tastings from the street vendors of some authentic Puebla food and drinks. Since our casita is walking distance to Arena Puebla, where Lucha Libre is held, we were able to wander the historic streets of central Puebla, learning the history of the area and points of interest. Susana brought our neighbourhood to life for us. Our final stop, before the big event, was to try some pulque of different flavours. Here, we were met by Francisco and surprised with a gift bag from Unlimited Experience with Lucha Libre masks. We thought this was a very special touch and a great keepsake of our fun evening. Susana explained the Lucha Libre experience to us before we reached Arena Puebla. This was very helpful to us as first-timers. The arena was alive with happy and spirited people, cheering on their favourite wrestlers. The cost of the tour included VIP seats, which were excellent and just two rows back from the ring. The wrestlers were very entertaining and put on a great show, as did the crowds. We had a blast! It's an authentic Mexican event and we highly recommend going. After the wrestling was over, we were again met by Francisco, who had a warm car waiting to take us back to our Airbnb. In the car, bottles of water and bags of chips were waiting for us. This company adds special touches to their tours, for sure. We were very impressed. We had planned to purchase our tickets and go on our own, but we would have missed out on so much information and the comfort of being with someone who could guide us through the experience. This is sure to be one of the highlights of our week's stay in Puebla. Special thanks to Susana (guide extraordinaire) and also to Francisco and the Unlimited Experiences team for planning such a great tour for us to enjoy!oddmolly2016
