Duration: 15 minutes
Stop At: Le mura di Lucca, 55100, Lucca Italy
The ride continues on the top and around the town walls: you will enjoy an outstanding view of the city centre, a gorgeous vista on the surrounding countryside and understand the history and the construction of the fortification during the centuries. Your guide will give you the chance to explore secret passages and hidden sites that you couldn't find on your own.
Duration: 30 minutes
Stop At: San Michele in Foro, Piazza San Michele, 55100, Lucca Italy
We will go through the historical centre to admire the many noble palaces and old churches, passing by the outstanding Guinigi Tower. You will also cycle along less touristy neighbourhoods getting a real taste of local life. Therefore, it will be the time to enjoy our first food stop, by paying a visit to our favourite shop and tasting delicious delicatessens of the city. You will try delicious pecorino cheese, local cold cuts and cherry on top - the extra-virgin olive oil. You will also learn about traditional recipes and get to know about curious ingredients.
Duration: 1 hour
Stop At: Piazza Anfiteatro, Piazza dell'Anfiteatro, Lucca Italy
After the tasting we go on a ride through different corners of the city centre admiring narrow alleys, secondary trails and ancient churches till we reach and glimpse the façade of the lowest one: San Frediano basilica which is very close from the fascinating Amphitheatre square. We’ll continue exploring the east side of the town that is less known but very local.
Duration: 45 minutes
Stop At: Piazza Napoleone, Lucca Italy
Later we’ll go back on the saddle and we’ll climb back to the walls, concluding the visit by seeing the remaining unexplored parts. We head down again to the historical centre passing by Piazza Grande, ready for the last sweet stop in the oldest ice cream shop of Lucca: here we will taste a real excellence, the best gelato you will always remember (in colder months gelato will be replace with a cake and a coffee)! Fantastic cycle tour, Chiara was super knowledgeable on Lucca, giving us lots of information. Chiara was also great company throughout the trip. The 3 food experiences were great and finishing with an ice cream was a perfect end to a lovely day. We highly recommend the foodie bike tour.

I had been told for years what a special town Lucca was. Being able to do this bike tour with Luca as our guide made it even more of a special experience than I could have imagined and my bar was already pretty high! He kept the pace appropriate, I always felt safe and we had the most amazing experience enjoying riding on the city wall as well as through the alleys and streets of the town. The three stops for food wine and gelato were also satisfying and even more important we enjoyed learning more about Luca and Lucca as we dined. Of our entire 12 day cruise, I have a feeling this will be the highlight of the whole thing!Sara gave an excellent tour. She was fun and knowledgeable. The bike tour was interesting and the food stops were very good. I recommend Sara and this tour to get an overview of Lucca and it’s history

What a unique and fantastic way to experience one of the most spectacular smaller cities in Tuscany! Chiara was a superb guide, knowledgeable and fun, sharing history and stories that really satisfy a nerd like me and my partner (she's not as nerdy). To start, Chiara met us at the Lucca train station which was very easy. Taking my partner and I along the walls of the city on our bikes she regaled us with the complex and interesting history of the city and its development. Attentive to our needs, we stopped frequently to admire the beautiful views and architecture. Hopping on and off of the walls we went into the city to admire gorgeous buildings and wonderful food. She took us into old tunnels and thru secret alleys ending with some of the best Gelato I had while in Italy. She also took some great photos for us! This experience was well worth it and one of the best I've done. Intimate, stunning and informative this hit all the marks and Chiara was fun and interesting. Once done we dropped off the bikes and wandered around the city square until our departing train. Truly a wonderful experience! Oh and all the food and bikes are all included in the cost, so you aren't dropping Euros at every stop. Highly recommend this experience and Chiara in particular to get one of the most singular experiences in Italy!Excellent relaxed and easy tour. Our guide Sara was lovely and looked after everyone very well. Shame it rained but not the tours fault!!!
