Overview

Welcoming guests to Kauai since 2007, Luau Kalamaku is Hawaii's only luau show performed “in-the-round, ” offering optimal views of the stage. Witness the unearthing of the pig from the traditional imu (underground oven) and enjoy a hula lesson. A craft fair featuring unique items by local artisans awaits on the sprawling lawn. Feast on a delicious buffet of local and familiar favorites and enjoy a Mai Tai from the open bar. The main show tells the amazing story of the ancient Hawaiian legend of Kalamaku “child of the new land." Through laughter, fear, seduction and fire, a new legacy is created, born from the cherished seeds of their ancestors. The theatrical luau show culminates with a fantastic fire dream featuring fire poi balls and traditional fire knife dancing.

What an awesome performance by all! I loved all the dancing and we were intrigued with them doing the fire dance. We were entertained the entire time. The food was okay and the drinks were okay.

The performers were wonderful and very talented. The food was subpar and I would definitely go for the entertainment and not go for the food. It’s a bit of a tourist trap but what would one expect for a buffet luau, lol!

An exciting event for families and couples. A fun train ride; a feast and a beautiful show. The performers were excellent and their story compelling. If you know the Tahitien migration story you will identify with the Hawaiian. Mahalo!

We were recommended in attending, so we did. What a waste of time. We came for the imu ceremony which was scheduled from 6:15-6:30. We come to the pit at 6:20 and we were informed that it was done 5 minutes ago. No traditional meals were served at the buffet and they served pulled pork instead...

5 Stars for the Performance. The food was not authentic Hawaiian food. The performance was like seeing a broadway show.
