Stop At: Addis Ababa, Addis Ababa
The tour starts in the Addis Ababa's Atlas neighborhood with a welcome drink or coffee. From there we set off on foot to a family owned restaurant serving our favorite vegetarian dishes in the country. As we walk through the neighborhoods, our guides will share lots of information about Addis Ababa and the history and culture of the country. Next we visit Addis Ababa's most famous meat house followed by a fish restaurant. We'll refuel with some coffee and have a fresh juice for dessert! At every stop we'll try beers from different parts of the country. The tour ends around 8pm.

ETT provided us with another fun adventure in Addis. Our guide Leul was fantastic. We started by going the fruit and vegetable market. The size and amount of chaotic activity is really something to be seen. Its every bit as amazing as the merkato. Next we went for breakfast. Leul took care of ordering. I highly recommend the mixed mango, pineapple and avacodo juice. Next it was off to make injera. The three of us on the tour failed miserably. It is much harder than it looks. Finally we headed to lunch and some wonderful shiro. The only draw back to this tour is you do spend a good amount of time in a vehicle due to the traffic in Addis, but you get to see day to day life first hand. El jueves anterior recibí la confirmación que me pasaban a buscar a las 9 am por el hotel. El sabado a las 8.14 am me estaban llamando para que bajara de mi habitación. Me llevaron a la oficina de la empresa y esperé durante unos 40 minutos sin que me explica...
Contraté el tour para un dia sabado. El jueves anterior recibí la confirmación que me pasaban a buscar a las 9 am por el hotel. El sabado a las 8.14 am me estaban llamando para que bajara de mi habitación. Me llevaron a la oficina de la empresa y esperé durante unos 40 minutos sin que me explicaran por qué estaba allí. Finalmente me entero que soy el UNICO participante y me llevan de recorrido en un automovil normal. Vamos a la feria de frutas y vegetales de Piassa, el lugar es sorprendente y muy activo (hay que ir con calzado apropiado, hay mucha basura en el piso). Luego fuimos al restaurant de una gasolinera, que es donde la gente hace su comida diaria (toman desayuno, almuerzo y hasta cena en una sola vez al dia). La comida es buena, pero lo que es supremo son los jugos de frutas: excelentes! Salimos para Bole (centro) y tomamos un cafe en un Tomoca nuevo. De allí nos fuimos a otra feria: Sholla. Es un mercado muy grande donde se encuentra de todo pero fundamentalmente especias. Es muy lindo para recorrer, a diferencia de Merkato, es más ordenado y la gente es sumamente amable. Todos los precios se negocian. Volvimos a Bole a almorzar en un restaurante tipico y tomar más cafe. Luego de allí me llevaron a mi hotel a las 14.40 pm. Fin del tour. La promesa de cocinar con una familia local y aprender a preparar injera no estuvo en el programa, todo fue muy improvisado y rápido. Lo unico que quiero mencionar es que tanto el guia como el driver fueron muy buenos y simpáticos, pero la experiencia no estuvo a la altura de lo que se propone en la oferta del tour. Die Tour wurde nicht wie bei VIATOR gebucht durchgeführt. Sie war ab Beginn improvisiert, da überhaupt nicht vorbereitet. - verspätete Abholung nach tel. Reklamation - lange Wartezeit in der Agentur - Fahrten mit Privat PKW, als Guide ein Mann, der das noch nie gemacht hat - die gebuchte deutschsprachige Tour hat es nie gegeben: den angeblich später hinzu kommenden deutschen Guide habe ich nicht kennen gelernt. Eine dreiste Lüge. - kein Frühstück, kein abgefülltes Trinkwasser in Flaschen, kein Fahrzeug mit Klimaanlage laut Buchung - Keine vegetarischen Gerichte des Landes, kein Fischrestaurant, keine Biere aus verschiedenen Landesteilen gemäß Programmbeschreibung. - Keine Vermittlung von Geschichte und Kultur des Landes, da kein ausgebildeter Guide. - Ende der Tour 14 Uhr, nicht gemäß Programm gegen 20 Uhr. Nun noch etwas positives: der Fahrer ist sehr vorsichtig und rücksichtsvoll gefahren, da es sein eigenes Auto war. Der Guide war freundlich und hat ständig telefonisch Rücksprache gehalten, was er nun tun soll. Er war bemüht. Dies war die zweite Buchung mit der Agentur Ethio Travel and Tours, die nicht zufrieden stellte. Peinlich, dass VIATOR so etwas anbietet.
