Little India Food Walk in Old Dubai

Farida is fantastic. She showed us all of the unique and special spots in old Dubai. It was great seeing the original part of the city from the perspective of a very knowledgeable local.

Their tour was great! My group and I had a tour of Old Dubai with Farida, and although we were a low energy group (from a long day in the Dubai heat), Farida had great energy and was able to keep a positive spirit throughout the tour. I love that we were able to support so many local businesses throughout our tour and the food at every place was very good (and this is coming from a self-proclaimed picky eater). I would recommend this tour to anyone who visits Dubai.Great food at all the locals-in-the-know little hole in the wall places. Our guide was super nice and knowledgeable. Great food at all the locals-in-the-know little hole in the wall places. Our guide was super nice and knowledgeable. She was fun and went beyond to make sure we all were taken care of. My wife and I did the Little India on a Plate tour with the fabulously interesting, informative and warm Tanya on November 21, and it was an excellent tour. The delicious food, the stories and history shared and the company of our tour-mates is all worthy of 5 stars. We came into the tour without a lot of experience with Indian food. We'd tried some basic dishes, but our knowledge base pretty much ended with samosas, chicken tikka masala and naan. Yes, a limited Indian vocabulary. Tanya explained each dish we were going to eat in detail (along with a hilarious preamble at each stop letting us know what percentage of our overall stomach to use for each food), and then shared more about how the dish fit into the history of India and the history of Dubai, all wrapped up with a smile that said "yes, I know it is delicious and you are getting full, just you wait!" We highly recommend this tour to anyone, whether you love Indian food or are a novice. It is great learning (and seeing) how the dishes are made, getting to experience a totally different part of Dubai and meeting Tanya. Food is a universal language and Dubai is a really perfect place to take that truth to heart. After our tour, Tanya was kind enough to give us some recommendations for the rest of our trip. She's the best.Had a great time with Tanya learning about Dubai and its Indian culture and food as we made our way through the Mena Souk. Recommended.
