Overview

Your history tour begins with a drive out of Boston to the very site where the American Revolution began. At Lexington Battle Green, you’ll hear about the events leading up to the first shots fired in the war for American independence.

From here, we’ll explore other sites linked to military engagements that took place along “Battle Road”, from historic taverns to bronze statues commemorating American patriots at Minute Man National Historical Park.

Other sites of interest on our Lexington and Concord tour include the 1775 replica of Old North Bridge as well as a number of places linked not to war but the early American literary world. We’ll visit Louisa May Alcott’s Orchard House, where the author penned her classic Little Women, and the nature preserve that inspired Henry David Thoreau to put his solitary thoughts down in Walden.

We’ll have a chance to make a tour stop at Sleepy Hollow Cemetery, final resting place of other renowned writers, before a scenic drive back to the city.

Allison was so knowledgeable of the history in the area. Had a great time with my 9 & 7 year old sons learning a lot from her when she explained things on their level. Not always easy to do. Both sons said “it was fun learning about the battles.” Highly recommend her!
