What to expect
Itinerary
Learn to Dive in just two classroom and pool training days, and two separate day trips aboard SeaQuest! Come and join us for the adventure of a lifetime learning to dive on the magnificent Outer Barrier Reef with Cairns most established and renowned dive operator. On completion of your four certification dives you will get the opportunity to do one 'fun dive' (time permitting).
Our classes start Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Saturdays.
If you are enrolling in an entry-level recreational diving certificate you must, prior to commencing the training, complete and submit a self assessed medical declaration form:
Medical Declaration for Entry-Level Certificate Divers
If it has been identified on the stated document that you:
(a) have or have had any of the medical conditions mentioned in the medical declaration; or
(b) are over 45 years old; or
(c) have a body mass index over 30 AND a waist circumference greater than 102 cm for males and 88 cm for females;
then the person must provide an English language dive medical certificate from a doctor, certifying that the person is medically fit to dive.

- Not wheelchair accessible
- Not recommended for travelers with back problems
- Not recommended for pregnant travelers
- No heart problems or other serious medical conditions
- Travelers should have a moderate physical fitness level
- All participants are required to complete a health questionnaire prior to diving, a link to the form will be provided upon ticket confirmation; some pre-existing medical conditions (e.g. asthma, heart conditions, etc.) may prevent you from diving; please consult your doctor.
- This experience requires good weather. If it’s canceled due to poor weather, you’ll be offered a different date or a full refund
- This tour/activity will have a maximum of 60 travelers
- Confirmation will be received at time of booking

The boat we stayed on was amazing, clean, comfortable, excellent food and service. The crew were all so friendly and thoughtful. A massive thankyou though to our instructor in particular, Emily. She was brilliant. Our whole team loved her. She was so calm underwater and not only was she great at what she does but she was also great at teaching it. Could not recommend her or Divers Den enough. Worth every cent. We also highly recomemd staying at least one night on Ocean Quest out on the reef. I could have stayed a week. <3Kartini D

Fantastic course with Mak! I was really anxious in the beginning, but he was super patient and encouraging throughout the whole process. Our 2 trips to the reef were amazing - definitely recommend to anyone who is thinking about getting certified!

I had done a lot of research into diving companies to complete my PADI open water referral course and I had completed the theory and confined dives in the UK prior to my trip to Oz. The boarding/check in process was pretty hectic and made me feel very anxious about doing my open water dives as I had done my confined dives 2 months earlier but I was put in a group with 6 other students who had done their confined dives and theory literally the day before so there knowledge was a lot fresher. As you are on the boat with 55+ people who may just be doing a snorkel day tour or a try dive, it would have been nice to have had a better introduction from the check in at the dive shop to help put me at ease of what I would expect front he course. During my first dive I panicked unfortunately and could not complete the required elements however this was when I experienced the great customer service from some of the crew members onboard. Rich the onboard supervisor was very supportive and calming in the first instance and made me feel so much better. A huge shout out to Mel who really made my experience because she was so helpful in making sure I understood what my options were before my next dive and she showed genuine care and support. She also kept following up with me, at the end of the day and during the next days dives. Finally, Anna my dive instructor was awesome, without her I wouldn’t have been able to get through it so thank you so much, your efforts did not go unnoticed.Explorer388777

Highly recommend Divers Den if you're like me and want to accomplish a life goal of getting certified as a diver. My instructor Mak was friendly, knowledgeable, and eased my nerves. I had one day in class, another in the pool, and two days on the live aboard on the beautiful Great Barrier Reef. Five dives a day are offered on the live aboard. It was an amazing way to start off 2020. Do something everyday that scares your family! Thanks to everyone at Divers Den and the crew on Ocean Quest for making my trip to the GBR unforgettable!!!
