My parents came to visit me in Kenya and we picked Explorer Kenya to go on safari to Naivasha, Nakuru and Masai Mara. As it was a 6 day trip with just the three of us the driver was super important and we were so lucky to get John Kariuki. He was professional and good humoured without fault, and his experience and knowledge of the animals was very impressive. We had a wonderful time and could not recommend him more highly. We had a customized 4 days luxury tent safari at Lake Naivasha and Masai Mara with Douglas and it was just amazing! We had a customized 4 days luxury tent safari at Lake Naivasha and Masai Mara with Douglas and it was just amazing! In 2,5 days in Masai Mara we saw the Big 5, the begining of the wild beasts migration, one of the first fast crossings of the wild beasts and a wild beast being eaten by 2 crocodiles… real nature in action! And in Navaisha we had a walk with zebras and giraffes among other things. The food in the 2 lodges was great, and the service was good. Douglas was the best guide ever, always on time, being present and always in smiling while being very professional. We will have another 4 days safari in Tsavo and Amboseli in the coming days, hope it will be as great as the first one and that Douglas will be our guide. I strongly recommend Kenya Explorer! We did five days in Kenya doing Nakuru, Lake Naivasha and Masai Mara. Purity replied really fast and with the complete information to our emails. We did five days in Kenya doing Nakuru, Lake Naivasha and Masai Mara. Purity replied really fast and with the complete information to our emails. Our guide was Moses and there is nothing more I can say than he was perfect. Funny, respectful, professional, responsible, intuitive and best of all did everything so we could live an adventure every day. He could spot a cheetah, rhino, leopard from miles away from his bare eye. He made us feel safe in every way and helped us in everything he could. The hotels are really good and the land cruiser was very comfortable, distances were a lot but I would recommend doing them, you can get to see a lot of the country from the roads... Book with Explorer, they also have the best prices and you really get what you pay for... they do everything they can to make you feel welcome! We chose the "comfort" package for this safari and altered the itinerary a bit to keep the vacation a bit more slow paced. We chose the "comfort" package for this safari and altered the itinerary a bit to keep the vacation a bit more slow paced. Explorer Kenya was extremely easy to work with and offered an alternative for us with fewer destinations so that we spend less time on the road. Overall I can say this was one of the most care-free vacations I've ever taken. Since we stepped out of the airport until we arrived back to our flights, we were looked after and everything of consequence was arranged for us so you can focus on relaxing and taking in the amazing nature in Kenya. We visited Samburu, Lake Nakuru and the Masai Mara. All three parks are amazing and each has a different feel to it. You definitely get a different experience in each of these. The camps we stayed at offer comfort well above expectations given their remoteness. You get to stay in a large, campaign-style tent fully furnished, all sporting bathrooms with running water. Food was good everywhere, the staff is incredibly polite and responsive and the lounging/bar areas are just fantastic. Our guide John Kariuki took care of us every step of the way from picking us up at the airport to dropping us off at the airport hotel few hours before our flights. John is very knowledgeable and funny. On our way between parks John shares facts about the history of places we pass through as well as geography, regional economy and political situation. You learn a lot during the long car rides between parks. Inside the parks, John was way better than all of us put together at spotting animals, from spotting a cheetah feeding in some dense bushes to leopards in a tree that we could barely spot with our binoculars. He seems to have good knowledge of how animals move around the park and every game drive was an experience. John is a great driver. He is prudent , doesn't speed and we felt very safe every second of the way. The 4x4 Landcruiser we were in has no problems getting anywhere in the park under any kind of weather condition. John had no problems navigating and driving us around even under heavy rain and muddy roads. I strongly advice you go for the Landcruiser over the vans if you decide to visit during rainy seasons. This trip was absolutely wonderful. The sights I got to see were a treasure I never knew existed. My driver Lucas Kinyanjui knew the best spots for photography and knows so well his way around the parks to find the wildlife. 5 Days Safari That Exceeded all my expectations! My 5 Days trip to Kenya was unforgettable thanks to Purity from Explorer Kenya Safaris. Shout out to Guide Jonathan! Explorer Kenya handled all my booking enquiries and all the arrangements. The management had been really responsive to all my queries and most importantly understanding and accommodating with any of my Plans. Nothing was a problem and everything got resolved quickly to my satisfaction, as I booked my Safari Fast. The best part of My trip was the Masai Mara, I was able to see lots of animals than I ever anticipated. In Mara I stayed at the fantastic Mara Enkorok Camp, the staffs at Enkorok were fantastic with all attention focused to us, I really enjoyed this Camp. My other two Destinations were Lake Nakuru and Lake Naivasha, both were amazing with Rhinos, Birds, and many wildlife. The game drives for this safaris are amazing! The driver is skillful, knowledgeable, get up close to the wildlife while respecting them. I was so fortunately to see almost all the Big Fives except for Leopard. My guide for the safaris was Jonathan. What a great guy! It didn't feel like he was my guide but more like a very knowledgeable friend. We could talk about anything and everything - animals, culture, current issues, politics and so on... He knows where to go to find the animals and he really made sure I had the best time possible and I could capture the best photos. Words can't describe the experience and am so grateful having this opportunity. Jonathan's passion for the animals and the way he shared his knowledge with me was inspiring. I brought home more than just photos, but loads of memories and new knowledge. Go with Explorer Kenya Safaris - you're not going to regret!
