We visit the beautiful lava formations in an area also known as the 'Dark Castle'

Weather was pretty crappy (rained entire time). But our guide Icky was fantastic and made us forget about the weather!! He is a native Icelander from the area (actually drove by his childhood farm), and gave us great explanations of everything. He was proud and enthusiastic about his homeland ...

He was proud and enthusiastic about his homeland which made for an excellent day!The tour was fantastic. The sights are out of this world. The only thing I would improve is that the guide should let us know the itinerary in advance. We didn’t know where we going and for how long. Other than that, the stories were entertaining and the driving was great.

What a superb tour this was with the excellent Armann as our guide: so knowledgeable and entertaining; passionate about Northern Iceland, his enthusiasm was infectious. We were a small group of like-minded people; day itself was full of amazing scenery – from the Dimmuborgir Lava field to the geothermal area plus three stunning waterfalls – and lots more yet you never felt rushed. Loved bathing in the Myvatn hot springs, peaceful and less commercialised than the Blue Lagoon. Really recommend Imagine Iceland Travel, such friendly and professional staff with immediate responses to my emails. Cannot wait to go back and do it all over again!
