The collective was one of the BEST tours I’ve been on in a long time. I booked this trip randomly with my good friend and it did not disappoint. Our tour guide Manuel Salvador Galdámez Aguirre aka Manny Galdámez was AWESOME!!! Very funny, engaging and informative. Everything was a history lesson about the beautiful country of Guatemala. We ate breakfast at a beautiful restaurant Kota on the way there and the food was amazing and very affordable. We then took a boat ride on Lake Atitlan to San Juan where we experienced the most authentic textile business and learned about the process of making chocolate. The tour is full of murals great for picture taking. While on the trip we met a very nice couple who joined us on the tour and we had a blast! We ate dinner at Panajachel and enjoyed each others company. I will definitely be booking with Manny Galdámez again. We did so much on the store. Well worth the money Carmen was our guide and was very nice and helpful. She answered all my questions. You get to see so much of Guatemala on this trip and do so much. I highly recommend it.

The tour picked us up in Guatemala City, so we were in the car for quite some time on crowded, narrow, winding roads. We had breakfast on the way (not included), so had a full stomach the rest of the drive, then got on a boat. I didn't loose my breakfast in the water, but nearly. The lake and volcanos are stunning, and all our drivers very skilled. The market at San Juan has so much stunning art to purchase, be sure to pack accordingly so you have room to bring your items home with you. Some of the shops only take local currency, but many take credit cards, so maybe just ask before you make your final selection. Our demonstration on native methods of textile production was short, but informative, maybe if our group had asked more questions, the demonstrator would have been more engaged. We ate at a lovely restaurant on the way home, but didn't spend much time in Santa Catarina. Our guide was kind and informative, the driver was efficient and skilled. We had a great day!If you’re short on time, this is a great way to visit some of Lake Atitlán’s villages in one day. Winston was a wonderful guide - very informative and attentive. My tour included four guests plus Winston and the driver so it was a very personalized experience.
