Stop At: Kyrenia Castle, Kupdemir Sk, Kyrenia 99300 Cyprus
When we drive to the the city centre we'll walk to our second stop of the day. This is 'Kyrenia Castle'.The Castle was made by the Byzantine and many additions were made by Lusignans, Venetians, Ottomans and English. There is a shipwreck museum inside the castle which the amphoras, almonds ,seeds and the shipwreck is exhebited. The shipwreck dates back to 300BC

Stop At: Kyrenia Harbour, Kyrenia Cyprus
It was built as a harbor during the Venetian period. A chain tower is dating the same period. The harbor was built as 'U'shaped. The Customs office was built during the Colonial time. Nowadays the harbor is used as a marina for the daily boat tours. Also there are many cafes that one can enjoy to drink alchohol or soft drink

Stop At: Baldoken ottoman graveyard, Mustafa cagatay, Kyrenia Cyprus
This is a military cemetery which dates back to 16th century Ottoman period. The moseleaum in the centre is believed that it belongs to one of the commanders from Ottoman garrison.

Stop At: The Round Tower, Kyrenia Cyprus
The city was surrounded by walls during the Lusignan period. This tower is the one remaining from those years.

Stop At: Bandabuliya, 88R9+8M5, Çarşı Sk, Girne 99300
The old Municipality Market was built by the British in 1887 as a town hall. Later the municipality market was the center for fresh fruits and vegetable until recently. The 'Bandabuliya' was later restorated and has been traditional bazaar to cafe, office and an event venue.

Stop At: Bellapais Monastery, Bellapais Village, Kyrenia Cyprus
The Monastery was built by Lusignans. It is one of the nicest Monasteries which was built in Medieval period in Middle East. It has a Gothic structure. It was in use until 16AD.

I visited Cyprus for the second time this year. As I decided to get acquainted with the northern part of the island, I pre-booked a private tour to Kyrenia and Bellapais Abbey. The trip was led by Mrs. Sirin Suha. It was a spectacular half-day tour to amazing sites. And Mrs. Sirin was a wonderful companion - she speaks English perfectly, knows her job very well, and knows Cyprus and its history very well too. Therefore, immediately after that, we arranged an excursion to the medieval city of Famagusta and to the Troodos mountains. The last trips left a great impression not only because of the uniqueness of the objects visited, but also because of Mrs. Sirin exceptional abilities to communicate, to show interesting objects.
