The walk in Prizen (Kosovo) in the early morning was enjoyable as the town just started to ‘wake up’. Staying overnight allows us to have a local experience as we had a chance to explore the town in the evening. Although the tour is expensive, we got 2 countries checked off our list and didn’t have to worry about border crossing logistics. The tour company put us at Hotel Kanicari for 1 night. Despite the 4 star ranking, we feel the hotel is only 3 star at best: the A/C did not work, no coffee maker in the room, buffet breakfast is average, etc … We were told none of the hotels’ A/C system in the area was working. Hmmm, it just didn’t make sense. Anyhow, we slept with the balcony door opened all night. For the $660 usd we paid for the tour, we expect a better hotel. That said, the driver/tour guide Boris who took care of us for the Kosovo portion was patient and flexible. He was willing to make an impromptu shopping stop in Prizen for fabric shopping. We ended up buying beautiful fabrics for a custom gown. We also found some beautiful jewelry in Prizen. The visit in Skopje was also very nice. We enjoyed the walking tour around the city center and the bazaar. All in all, it was a good tour but it is on the expensive side. Here is a little guide for anyone considering this great tour. Here is a little guide for anyone considering this great tour. First of all i was a little apprehensive about going as i just heard they were tension in kosovo but the tour operator said not to worry and the v knowledgable Goce later explained its nothing to worry about. For the first part of the trip i was picked up at my door (7.45 ish) in a mini van bringing everyone to skopje, A nice trip with stops and boarder check, we were in skopje for 11 local time, we then had a two hour tour of skopje, even tho the guide normally does the slavic tours. his english was v good and gave us all a great tour. .its an amazing city. I was then taken to my driver Goce for the next part of the tour. We arrived in Pristina about 90 minutes later (boarder check and all) Goce explained all the sites and we sat for a coffee break, its small but nice, onwards to Prizren and during our drive ,I got a history lesson from the unbelieveably knowledgeable Goce. .We toured Prizren for the evening, had local food and rested. it was great having someone to communicate for you.and look out for you. the Following day we took the really scenic route back to skopje Goce was great at showing all the local areas and a pleasure to have guide me around. the return trip was very relaxed and i was brought straight back to my door for around 8pm, ,Thanks again bultrips for putting together a great multi city tour, . There is no way of doing this yourself in that timeframe or having the quality this trip entails. also dont worry about macadonian denar,, they accept euro,I was staying in Sofia but wanted to add Kosovo to my travel plans. I was staying in Sofia but wanted to add Kosovo to my travel plans. I didn’t want to navigate bus routes so this option worked well. Bulgarian driver Nik picked me up at my hotel and brought me and 5 others who were only visiting North Macedonia for the day, to Skopje. I had been to Skopje briefly before but the tour was good despite rainy weather and Mikhail the Macedonian tour guide was engaging and we tried various food and drink as well as seeing the sites. I broke away with another tour guide Rocky who took me to Pristina, Kosovo by car. He was extremely knowledgeable and professional. Prizren was the highlight and we toured some of the city at night and then had dinner. The hotel was in a great location and very good. The next day we toured more of Prizren before returning to Skopje. I joined another small group returning to Sofia from a North Macedonia tour. Tour was full service, door to door, and exceeded my expectations.

This trip was memorable in many ways and everyone involved was friendly and professional. The beautiful city of Skopje was charming, traditional with a modern twist and full of character. Kosova was equally enjoyable with the picturesque mountains and beautiful houses on the hills. Prizren is a must-see and we highly recommend it. Finally, thank you to Gorchu for being our guide in Kosovo. He was an educated, knowledgeable individual who literally looked after us so well and ensured we were comfortable and safe throughout our trip (we felt like family!). We really enjoyed our conversations, Gorchu and we thank you from the bottom of our hearts for being so hospitable in the Balkans! A big thank you to Lobyu too for your patience, safe driving and for getting us to our flight early - forever grateful!
