What a great team and an amazing experience! We did the bioluminescence tour and everything was even better than expected. Great instruction and insights along the way, great support and compassion for all, and a real focus on safety. Seeing Los Arcos during daylight would have been enough, but seeing it at night with the spectacular bioluminescence was beyond words. Oh, and then an incredible reception upon return with a warm fire, goodies, hot chocolate and the warm smiles of the friendliest team around! This experience was truly one of a kind. This was the highlight of my brief trip to Puerto Vallarta. I absolutely loved everything about my stand up paddle boarding adventure with Philipe and Mauricio! I took the bus there - 20 mins & only 10 pesos. Walked down the hill to the beach, turned to the left and this little oasis on the ocean, Paddle Zone welcomed me in. Good to arrive early because it was a bit windy, so we gave the paddle board a test run since I've never SUPed on lakes before. They also included a free lesson. The excurson was challenging at times but in a good way. I fell in, which I rarely do at home but here it's so warm, I wasn't cold. We had life jackets as well as night lights after sunset to be seen. Relaxing and sitting on the board to watch the sunset - gorgeous. Paddling through the Arches was exciting and amazing!! Swimming in the bioluminescence was like swimming in the night sky. Incredible. I felt very safe with our guides. They always had the group's safety top of mind but were lighthearted and so fun-loving! So many value adds to this excursion - the hot coco, fried plantain & bonfire we were wonderful to return to after a vigorous paddle. Bathroom, shower, all really clean and nice to change out of wet clothes into dry. We got to Air Drop pics as we warmed by the fire - the best souvenirs of our adventure! 150% recommend if you like a little challenge, adventure and fun.We went on the Kayaking Bioluminescence Tour on March 4. We went on the Kayaking Bioluminescence Tour on March 4. The tour is definitely for those who are adventurous - it’s a good paddle to and from the islands. That night, the ocean was a bit rough, they did mention it was a colder night…. I got sea sick... Needless to say Mauricio and Maya did an amazing job guiding our family! Mauricio has a passion for Arcos National Park and is very knowledgeable! Maya (also a 3rd grade teacher) was amazing and wanted us to have a great time! You could tell they both love what they do! Overall, it was a memorable experience, next time I would go if warmer and smoother seas… my 9 year old gave it a top highlight of our visit, but I wouldn’t bring younger kids. I gave the experience a 5 because it is well organized and the guides are great!Great but not for the faint of heart or novice kayaker. Great but not for the faint of heart or novice kayaker. I consider myself an experienced kayaker and I struggled to keep up over the big waves. The views were amazing, the guides were awesome, sunset was beautiful but after about 1.5hrs I was drained. We went out on a choppy day, do not book if it’s windy. We also saw 0 bioluminescence however the guides advised that is not normal, it wasn’t dark enough? The moon was shining too bright. Cloudy calm days are apparently the best weather to go. The kayaks are sit on top style and while they have back support, I was dying after 2 hours. We did not see any marine life unfortunately. Lots of birds though. Water was too rough to go into the caves, and once it was dark out, the paddle home was long and cold. You WILL get wet. Bring your swimsuit, a change of clothes, a towel, and a dry bag for your phone. It was also quite chilly towards the end, a water approved long sleeve shirt to stay warm is ideal as well. You will also need Dramamine!! Multiple ppl got seasick. Wish I knew all this prior to going!
