What to expect
Our Kauai Guided Shore Snorkel takes you on a 2 hour (from start to finish including check-in) guided snorkel with a certified dive instructor from the shore. There is NO Boat involved with this tour. Actual snorkel time is roughly 45 min-60 min. This adventure will have you snorkeling Kauai’s pristine south shore reefs and have you learning about our tropical fish, sea urchins and sea mammals. We are often greeted by a turtle nesting on the beach or a Hawaiian monk seal basking in the sun. What a wonderful experience from a distance, it is the law to keep within 50 feet of our endangered species. Learn more about our Hawaii ecosystem and identify an array of tropical fish. - Most travelers can participate
- Not for travelers exceeding 300lbs. Due to safety and physical constraints, we must follow a strict weight LIMIT of 300lbs or less.
- Not for travelers who cannot easily walk into and out of the ocean water
- Participants should be COMFORTABLE in the water. You don't need to swim like an olympic gold medalist, but we will NOT be teaching you to swim either.

- This experience requires good weather. If it’s canceled due to poor weather, you’ll be offered a different date or a full refund
- This experience requires a minimum number of travelers. If it’s canceled because the minimum isn’t met, you’ll be offered a different date/experience or a full refund

We were told to arrive early but we ended up wasting 45 minutes standing by a locked door in the heat. No one greeted us to tell us we were in the right place. One surly young man walked past us a few times about his business but wouldn't make eye contact. When the start time of our appointment finally arrived our guide relectantly started fitting us in gear, something that we had arrived early to do. So this was coming out of our snorkel time. Even though we had given our measurements in advance, flippers were mixed around the right size. We worked with the other participants to figure it out. We were supposed to have the option of a van ride, but in the spirit of doung as little as possible the guide told us we would all be taking our own cars. Once we finally got snorkeling the guide called us in to be finished after one hour in the water. All the staff had body language that conveyed their disdain for tourists. We saw a sea turtle so that was fun for my son. But the underwater life looked unhealthy, gray and stressed. Not a good experience and a reminder to think carefully before touring.Our guide Mallory was very proficient and solicitous of her clients, assuring that all were able to participate and see all the incredible variety of sea life while snorkeling. A tour worth repeating!

A tour worth repeating!Was a bit nervous about snorkeling as my last time was no so great. But this experience made me love snorkeling. Our guide was awesome and made this wonderful. It was so cool to see the different fish and corral. Would definitely book with this tour company again!
