Psychro Cave is an ancient Minoan sacred cave in Lasithi plateau in the Lasithi district of eastern Crete. Psychro is associated with the Diktaean Cave, one of the putative sites of the birth of Zeus.
Duration: 1 hour
Stop At: Platanus Tree, Main Square, Krasi, Crete 700 05 Greece
In the village square of Krasi, there are three plane trees, the trademarks of the village. The most important of them is the platan in the center of the square, which is considered to be the oldest and most majestic of the plane trees in Crete.

Fantastic day out for myself and my teenage sons. Gary the goat killer was a hugely entertaining and knowledgeable guide. We saw low circling vultures, beautiful scenery, local villages, ancient plane tree and Zeus cave, learnt loads and couldn’t have asked for a better day. Thankyou Gary!

We stayed in Elounda in Oct 2019 and did the same tour with different driver (Geoff/Jeff). H This time i had called the main office the day before to book a tour asking if they did a pick up in Plaka for any other tours, told no, but decided to book it again anyway. Gary was our driver, very knowledgeable,witty and friendly. The tour includes being driven in a land-rover over some pretty rough and very high terrain, so if you suffer vertigo it may not be for you. Plenty of stops for photo opportunities, comfort and drink breaks. Lunch is incl (starter, main and dessert of fresh fruit as well as water and wine and the obligatory raki) We had a great day and would highly recommend, it's also a lovely way to meet other holiday-makers.I've experienced three jeep safari's now and all three have been very different but equally as good. Firstly, the countryside the tours go is breathtaking, and I don't use that word lightly. Crete is so much more than beaches and resorts. You are taken into the mountains to beautiful quaint villa...
I've experienced three jeep safari's now and all three have been very different but equally as good. Firstly, the countryside the tours go is breathtaking, and I don't use that word lightly. Crete is so much more than beaches and resorts. You are taken into the mountains to beautiful quaint villages to see the real Crete. Lunch is always at small mountainside tavernas where simple but delicious home cooked food is served with love and kindness. In fact often the best meals I have eaten during my trips to Crete are in these very remote tavernas. The vehicles are either Land Rovers or four wheel drive people carriers, as much of the roads are challenging to say the least. However, the guides/drivers are outstanding. Whether its driving along mountain tracks, serving lunch or answering a thousand questions, every guide has been incredible. I'm not wealthy and every euro I spend has to be carefully planned. However, I can't recommend this safari highly enough. The memories I have after each trip will remain with me for the rest of my life.Amazing day in the Mountains of crete - breathtaking views, Lots of Information and very entertaining Guide.
