Who would know that better than we in Karlsruhe - it has been the seat of the Federal Court of Justice and the Federal Constitutional Court here since 1951. So it seems only logical that we also offer a tour of Karlsruhe's legal history, including general information on the legal system, constitution and tasks of the Karlsruhe courts. Stop At: Platz der Grundrechte, Karlsruhe, Baden-Wurttemberg Germany
The "Platz der Grundrechte" (Platz der Grundrechte), created in 2005, is located between the circle and the palace square in the pedestrian zone between the market square and the palace. Here you will find 24 double-sided street signs dealing with the issues of right and wrong - with statements from judges, lawyers and citizens who came into conflict with the law.

The highest independent constitutional body of the judiciary has its seat in Karlsruhe. Learn more from our guide about the Federal Constitutional Court.
We only look at the BVG from the outside on the tour and do not go inside.

The Federal Court of Justice (BGH) was founded on October 1, 1950 and is the final instance in civil and criminal proceedings in Germany. Mainly the BGH decides on appeals against judgments of the regional courts and higher regional courts. Since its establishment, the Federal Court of Justice has been located on the approximately four hectare site of the former Hereditary Grand Ducal Palace, which is located in the southwest of Karlsruhe city center.
We only look at the Federal Court of Justice from the outside on the tour and do not go inside. If you would like to visit it yourself, you can get information about the admission of visitor groups directly from the BHG at a later point in time.

Stop At: Stadtbibliothek im Neuen Ständehaus, Ständehausstraße 2, 76133 Karlsruhe, Germany
The Badisches Ständehaus Karlsruhe is rightly considered a pioneer of democracy in Germany. The "Ständehaus memorial site" has been commemorating this tradition since 1993, in which the history of the Baden state parliament is presented in an exhibition.
We only look at the Ständehaus from the outside on the tour and do not go inside. If you would like to visit it yourself, you can find out about the entrance fee directly from the attraction at a later point in time.

Stop At: Verfassungssäule - Großherzog-Karl-Denkmal, Rondellplatz, 76133 Karlsruhe, Germany
Planned as Baden's symbol of power, the original intention was to engrave the distances to various Baden cities from Karlsruhe into today's constitutional column. Consisting of red sandstone, the column in the middle of the Rondellplatz rises 7.80 meters high into the sky.
