This was our favorite day in our Cambodia trip! Butterfly Tours was a highly professional company - they were very responsive over email, and they organized a tuk-tuk for pick-up from our hotel in Kampot. A great, Camb odian-run company! Kampong Trach was actually our second tour with Butterfly. Our guide Chenda was amazing (very friendly and knowledgable), and was patient with us as we learned how to ride the scooters. I was slightly nervous beforehand, but they were very accommodating to beginners, and we ended up having a total blast. It's amazing that Kampong Trach isn't one of the more popular routes, since you see beautiful countryside and visit really impressive caves in nearby hills (one of which you can swim in!). You spend a lot of time on small, country backroads (not on big highways - good for scooter newbies), and pass through small towns. Chenda also took us to lunch at a local, side-of-the-road place, and obliged our wish to see some local pepper growers. Our last stop was Kep, where we got to cool off with a dip in the ocean, and have delicious snacks at the local market. Can't recommend this enough - a fantastic way to see the people and countryside of Kampot/Kep provinces!Great tour, we all loved it. Highlight of the tour was the extremely lovely and friendly Cambodians you meet along the way. Highly recommended.

As Bokor didn't really attract me, I tried to search for other things to do. I randomly found this tour and got excited. This wasn't a tour my hostel pointed out, luckily I'm curious. I love the countryside and I always like to see how they live there. I'm really glad that I picked this tour and skipped the rest. I got picked up by my guide (I'm so sorry! If you read this, I should've asked how to spell your name) at my hostel. It ended up being a private tour. He was really spontaneous and enthusiastic, which I enjoyed. During the day we talked about so many things, it was nice getting this kind of insight. The scenery is beautiful along the way! Unfortunately, a few caves were flooded. But as I just came from the caves in Mulu, this wasn't a problem. The hike around the mountains was lovely enough. He showed me all the veggies and medicine plants along the way. We had lunch at a little local restaurant, which I really enjoyed, as this is a place you would never come by yourself. He had a lot of stories about the history of the spots we visited. I would definitely recommend this tour and company if you want to do see the countryside in Kampot area!I booked two tours with Butterfly Tours and was very happy with both of them. I booked two tours with Butterfly Tours and was very happy with both of them. Chenda, my tour guide on both trips, is a very knowledgeable, fun and kind person. I learnt a lot about the history and culture of Cambodia and it seemed that Chenda wasn't bothered by the fact that I was constantly asking questions. I truly loved the temple caves and Kampong Trach as the atmosphere is very mysterious. The landscape is very picturesque and I enjoyed walking along and up the small mountains.
