Gawk at a view that stretches for hundreds of miles. From this high point in Joshua Tree you can see as far as the Salton Sea and all the way down to Mexico on a clear day.
You might even be able to make out your hotel on this escarpment that borders the famous San Andreas Fault. Look below this ledge we will stop at and you will see the fault line itself which stretches for over 800 miles.
Duration: 15 minutes
Stop At: Barker Dam Trail, North of Barker Dam parking area, Joshua Tree National Park, CA
We offer an optional mile walk on this view that meanders through jaw-dropping beauty that includes the monzo granite formations of Joshua Tree as well as forests of these ancient plants that survived the Ice Age.
Your Hummer guide will escort you through this area and he is a certified Wilderness guide trained in the geology of this area as well as aware of its more recent Native American history.

Got a call at the meeting spot from a representative from the company that the trip would be cancelled because they couldn't secure a van to take us to the starting point where the Hummer was waiting for us. Another couple was there and said this happened to them the day before and got pushed to today. Really!!! Can't find a van to take 8 paying customers. If this is the start of the trip I can imagine what the actual 4 wheel drive activity would bring us.Gary was a good guide; very knowledgable and fun. We learned a lot and had a good time. Meeting in Palm Springs and driving up to entrance of Joshua Tree in a nice SUV before switching into the Hummer is definitily the way to go. My only complaint was that for $200 a person we should be provided with lunch and drinks on a 5 hour excursion.I found Gary to. helpful since it is hard for me move in and out of the hummer. He extremely knowledgeable. He showed beautiful views and explained everything about the Joshua tree. we enjoyed our trip and are looking forward to go back. I would use this company and having Gary as our guide.

Best tour ever! We only had 1 day in Joshua Tree and Jeff, our tour guide made it so memorable. His humor and knowledge were both excellent! He took us to really cool view points, was happy to take family photos and even played perfect music (Clint Eastwood, Johnny Cash, U2...) when not commentating on the history/views. Highly recommend this unforgettable trip!!
