However, there was a last minute added guest who was extremely large and blocked much of the view from the vehicle. My daughter gets car sick in the back seat of vehicles but this huge guy got the front seat. Isabelle did her best to increase my daughters comfort. The tour was incredible. Our tour guide, Will was very knowledgeable, friendly and pleasant. We learned so much about Joshua tree and its surrounding communities. There’s a lot of history to be told. Thank you.

I cannot recommend Big Wheel Tours or the tour guide Isobel enough. I do recommend that if you take a tour that you book directly with them. I booked through a third party company and it turned out Big Wheel hadn’t received my booking and because nobody else signed up the tour wasn’t scheduled. Even though it wasn’t their mistake, the owner Evan, who couldn’t be nicer, fit me into a different Joshua Tree tour and offered me a full refund. Additionally, even though this tour does not focus on the big tourist attractions, they added stops to places I (and the other guests) wanted to see because that was the tour I had planned (if you want to see the main attractions you should take the other tour though). I had planned to take the Joshua Tree highlights tour but am so glad I ended up on this tour. For most of the tour, we were the only people in sight. This tour is great for solo travelers and small groups alike. Isobel was so kind and fun to talk to and incredibly knowledgeable. I have taken very few tours in my life, but this experience changed that for me, I learned so much about the history and geology of Joshua Tree that I would have missed out on so much had I not taken this tour. Next time I’m in the area, I will definitely be taking a tour with Big Wheel and I have recommended this tour to friends.Jeff was very knowledgeable and answered all our questions about Joshua Tree. We had the BEST time on our tour. Isabella was an amazing and knowledgable guide. She gave wonderful detail on the history of the park, wildlife (mainly plants since animals were hiding!) and the terrain. I especially liked how she made sure to call out how the plant life would change as we went up in elevation and found the *perfect* spot for us to take in the Joshua Trees. I'd recommend to anyone looking to experience Joshua Tree but are unsure about going on a hike/navigating the park themselves. I would have NEVER been able to drive to the locations where she took us (I know its a small thing but I was very impressed with her driving skills just like the Chevy professional drivers for the commercial that was being filmed were). Our guide gave a very comprehensive and entertaining tour of the Joshua Tree National Park. Our guide gave a very comprehensive and entertaining tour of the Joshua Tree National Park. The history of the park, the biology of the Joshua Tree, Yucca plant, wildlife and terrain were explained in great detail. His off-road driving skills were top notch and indeed necessary to handle the very rough terrain. He also took great pictures of our family and was mindful of our needs for bio breaks. Moreover, he drove us around the caldero and up to the rock formations where we had time to climb and explore. Because of the very rough terrain, you should not have any back issues. It is a little intense, but if you can handle the ride, it’s a great experience.
