What to expect
Make your way to the Irish Whiskey Museum to meet your guide and begin your 1-hour whiskey experience. Located in the heart of Dublin’s city center beside the famous Trinity College, the museum can be easily reached by bus, Luas and DART lines.
Choose a tour time that suits you, and then set off on an enlightening journey through the history of Irish whiskey. Affectionately called 'uisce beatha' (Gaelic for 'water of life'), the Irish have been distilling the spirit for centuries.
In the 19th century, whiskey was the drink of choice in Ireland and across many parts of the world, but the Irish Potato Famine, Prohibition and various wars all contributed to the drink’s demise. As you make your way through the museum, trace the rise, fall and recent resurgence of Irish whiskey, and listen to your guide share stories about whiskey through the ages and examine displays of rare whiskey memorabilia.
End your experience with a whiskey tasting. Take a deep sniff of the powerful spirit, before tasting the smooth tipple. If you’ve chosen to upgrade your experience, you’ll get to sample a premium aged whiskey and take a souvenir home as a memento of your experience.
The tour concludes after the tasting, but you may wish to head to the retail area to pick up some whiskey merchandise or visit the bar, where you can sample more of the golden elixir in a range of whiskey-based cocktails (own expense).

We scheduled both the premium whiskey tour and the Irish Coffee Class and we were not disappointed! Matt was our guide for the Whiskey experience and was so full of information that he presented in a fun and entertaining way. We learned so much! This tour ends with the whiskey tasting and since it is not distillery specific you get to learn / taste from different distilleries versus when you are at a specific distillery. We loved the tour....for reference, my husband is a huge whiskey fan, and I go along for the ride! After this tour, we immediately proceeded to the Irish Coffee Class that was equally as impressive! Super fun and even my husband was surprised at how much he enjoyed this class! I can't remember our guides name, but I remember he was from Northern Ireland. He also did a terrific presentation! Definitely a must do if you are in Dublin for a visit!Wonderful historical viewing with an hilarious host/guide Donal (don’t call him Donald!). Terrific tastings of 4 delicious whiskeys (premium tour) with a lovely boxed glass to bring home. Highly recommend! We will be back!!

Not a nice welcoming at all but the visit and Andrew leveled up our expectations !We passed this place during our coach tour and decided to stop in on our walk back to the hotel from the Temple Bar district. We passed this place during our coach tour and decided to stop in on our walk back to the hotel from the Temple Bar district. Very glad we did! We did the premium experience, which included an extra whiskey tasting and a glass to take home. The tour was informative and delved deeply into the history of whiskey making along with the personalities and breweries in Ireland. The shop carries something for everyone, and the tasting at the end of the tour gave me a greater appreciation for Irish whiskey (and a new favorite, Powers!).I booked a tour for 14 people. Based on the reviews, we decided that we specifically wanted Donal as our tour guide. The tour was great and we had a lot of fun. The tour was also very informative and Donal's jokes lightened it up.
