Superheated rock in the earth’s mantle pushed the crust upward with such force that it cracked. A 240, 000 square mile chunk of it was thrust upward. That’s the Colorado Plateau we’re standing on today. All of this happened in the blink of an eye — well, geologically speaking. To us, the transformation was agonizingly slow, taking hundreds of thousands of years.

Page is one of the youngest towns in America, dating back to only 1957. But why build a town out here at all? Well, the whole thing exists because of Glen Canyon Dam.

We’ve arrived at the Carl Hayden Visitor Center. But, more importantly, this is your chance to get an up-close look at the Glen Canyon Dam! Feel free to hop out of your car and walk along the dam for some incredible views of the river far below

This stunning spot offers a simply unbeatable vista of Lake Powell and the surrounding landscape. On the near side of the lake you’ll also spot the Wahweap Marina, where folks store their boats between trips out onto the lake.

It’s called Waterhole Canyon. Erosion from water and wind has carved the canyon walls into a wild, curving pattern you simply have to see in person.

You might not think “bright colors” when you think of a canyon, but that’s just what you’ll get in Antelope Canyon. This wild, twisting slot canyon is Instagram-famous for a reason. The wind-carved sandstone walls look like something out of a dream, and the sunlight filtering down from above casts the whole thing in a fabulous red glow.

Très déçus!!! Limite arnaque. Nous n’avons jamais pu télécharger l’appli(zéro connexion ) Le GPS et Waze connaissent très bien l’adresse et le chemin. La visite de Horseshoe se fait sans aucun besoin d’aide ni d’indication depuis l’entrée. Bref 60€ (nous étions 6) pour rien !!! Très mécontents

This was a perfectly good waste of $10. Horseshoe Bend is a very small site and the amount of information on the audio tour was equivalent to about 2 paragraphs of a google search. I would NOT recommend spending money on this.

Although the app work perfectly, there isn’t a lot of information about the history or geology of the Horseshoe Bend. Just a brief and non-relevant info on each point. To be fair just 2 points had somehow interesting information about the Bend. I would not recommend spending the money on this ...
