We had a wonderful trip to Hoi An, an ancient town in Central Vietnam. Thanks to our knowledgable local tour guide, Mr. Thinh, we learned a lot about the history and beauty of this once flourished port city during the 16th - 19th century, where Japanese, Chinese and European merchants met and exchanged goods. We also learned about the sad incident that, as climate change took place, the sea level turned low and big ships could no longer enter its harbour. As a result, Hoi An was sadly left behind and forgotten for a long time, until it was rediscovered for tourism recently. In 1999, it was recognised by UNESCO as a World Heritage, which needs to be restored and reserved. Strolling down the small streets of Hoi An, I could feel the beauty of the remnants and the touch of time. Also on this trip, we visited a fisherman's house in the countryside of Hoi An, where we went on a basket boat tour, enjoyed the landscape and learned to cook some Vietnamese foods. It was a good chance for uns to get in touch with local people and learn about their lives. As we listened to their stories, our hearts were open and we could sympathize with their hardships. It was a meaningful experience for all of us, which we're very grateful for.Wonderful 1 day to explore the ancient town its countyside with full of interesting activies such as Hoi An basket boat ride, fishing crabs, Hoi an cooking class, visting the Japanese bridge, ancient house, Chinese assembly halls, Hoi An central market, etc. The guide was excellent and knowledgea...

We embarked on a morning tour which lasted 4 hours. We were picked up and driven to start the day on a basket boat ride, which was so much fun. The kids had a great time and we enjoyed our tour guide who spoke perfect English, Quan, who also narrated the history to us. The ride took us out to the main river. Thereafter, we were then given an opportunity to participate in a cooking class, which, of course, was followed by a tasty and sumptuous lunch. We had a foot massage with local herbs, to end the tour. Overall, it was great relaxation. We all had about 20mins each. The family that hosted us was really nice and it was just great to see them all happy and they made us feel special. Definitely worth doing this tour!
