Overview

With Cairns being the second Hipster capital of Australia, it's no wonder it is so cool ("hip"). But what makes it Hipster and why do Hipsters play such an important role in larger society?

We will explore the influential Hipster culture through food, cafes, street art, elite barbers, and vintage shops. Find out how much your life may be influenced by hipsters or if you're a closet hipster...!

The tour provides an overview of the global Hipster culture and how it has expanded in Cairns.

The importance and evolution of tattooing as art and a global trend, the emergence of graffiti as art, the food trends that hipsters have influenced (including the emergence of vegan food options), and the niche of elite barbers (and those hipster beards!) are all explored.

Discounts for seniors, children and groups of 4 or more offered.

My husband and I had an amazing time with Georgia on this tour! It was so fun to see Cairns through the lens of the hipster influence. She introduced us to so many cool restaurants, shops and murals that we never would have known about on our own! Georgia has out a lot of time and effort into org...

I mean as a local, I knew Cairns was good but now I’ve seen it through a different lense altogether. This tour is brilliant as Georgia’s passion for the history and culture of Cairns shines a whole new light on the city. It really is a wonderful way to spend an hour and a half and for such a grea...

The Hipster Walking Tour was great fun. Tattoo parlours, burger bars, funky shops and cool graffiti. Georgia has lots of fun facts and shows you the hippest places to check out and enjoy in the city. I am a local and loved a closer look at the street art. My parents were visiting and loved seeing...

After the walking tour my wife and I connected to Cairns in way we never would have otherwise. We discovered quaint stores and cool food (think organic, farm to table) places and even got discounts for future purchases. And we had an amazing time with Georgia who is one of the warmest, friendlies...

As a Cairns local, I was a little sceptic to this tour at first, mainly because I could never place my perception of 'hipster' together with Cairns. I ended up absolutely loving the tour, thanks to Georgia's incredibly open, grounded nature which makes anyone feel at home in her company. Georgia ...

Georgia definitely got the type of energy a person needs in order to run engaging walking tours. With a nerdescé level of knowledge, coupled with the laid back approach that makes Cairns what it is, she provides participants with an engaging and informative tour. A hipster myself, I especially de...
