Very good and very helpful. Warm and caring. Made best of it. Did more than what we asked for such as picking us up in a long distance.

I was picked up at the cruse port and driven over to the Swiss Divers Association located on the grounds of the former Caleta hotel that must have been the place to be in Acapulco during its heyday in the 30s. We were dropped off on Roqueta Island by some others that were on their way for a day diving. We took hiked up to the lighthouse where there were good views of the back and the whole expanse of the city of Acapulco. The Island it going kind of wild but the paths were easy to follow and we waked all over the small island. There were many places to look out and see beautiful natural views. We stopped at a very nice secluded beach to cool down near the end we stopped at a local restaurant where I had a Corona, but could have had lunch as well. We were picked up by the dive boat and went back to the mainland. It seems that the Caleta hotel has been abandon. I walked around the hotel a little before we went back to our respective hotels and cruise ship, and still imaging the glamor of the days when all the movie starts used to come to Acapulco and can almost feel what it must have been like. It was a nice to get out and do some hiking after spending days on a cruise ship. It was just what I needed.I met the guide at the pier where the cruise ship docked. I met the guide at the pier where the cruise ship docked. There we got on about a 30 minute boat ride to the island. From the base, it was about an hour and fifteen minute hike to the top of the island where the light house was. There were members of the Mexican Army stationed at the top camping out by the light house who watch over the area. After our trip back down, we stopped at a restaurant for about an hour where we could go swimming on the nearby shoreline. I thought this was a good inexpensive trip out of the bustle of Acapulco for the 10 hours I was in port.
