Hike the Dolomites - One day private excursion from Cortina
Overview
All you need is a backpack, a pair of hiking shoes and the desire to discover these fantastic mountains that are part of the UNESCO World Heritage Site.
In addition to safety, our primary goal is to hike where there are fewer people, so you can better enjoy the majesty of the Dolomites.
Under our expert guidance, we will hike at a speed suitable for you and your friends, without rushing.
Be prepared to enjoy the Dolomites as the locals do and without having to worry about where to go and how to do it. Your guide is a seasoned professional who will know where to take you-just follow him!

What to expect
After pickup at your accommodation, you will transfer by car with your guide to the starting point of the hike. If necessary, we will take a cable car or chairlift to quickly reach higher altitudes from where we can hike with better views and wider horizons.
The hike is on mountain trails that can be more or less challenging depending on your fitness level and weather conditions. Your private guide will choose the most suitable trails for you.
In the Dolomites near Cortina we offer several hikes in the area of the "Cinque Torri", "Croda da Lago", "Tofana", "Cadini di Misurina", "Lake Sorapis" and the famous but crowded "Tre Cime". During the day there is time to stop for lunch at a cozy "rifugio".
Once booked, a couple of days before the tour starts, you will be contacted by the local guide to customize the tour and meeting time.

My wife and I arranged for a Dolomite Mountain day hike with Guido, the FreeMotion eco-guide who sponsors this service. Before we set out, Guido gathered information from us (physical fitness, our expereience as hikers, what type of environment we would like to hike through) and presented us with three options on the day of our hike. After describing each of the three trails, he drove us to the trail head and deftly guided us on a hike up to Croda Del Lago, which was a perfect selection to fit the experience that we wanted. His ability to assess our needs and rapidly select what was best for us was extraordinary. Guido was fun to hike with and he seemed to enjoy our company as well. He knew when and where to pick rest stops and forewarned us of terrain that was more challenging. We stopped near a scenic overlook for lunch at a lovely refugio.The food was delicious! He had us back at our hotel at a reasonable hour to give us the maximun length of enjoyment, before we were overfatigued. It was clear that Guido knew the territory and was knowledgeable about the natural history of the Dolomites, giving us clear explanations about the geology and vegetation of the environment that we walked through. One last point: I accidentally left my jacket in his car and when he learned of this, he made an extraordinary effort to deliver the jacket to the location (Trento) where we were staying three days after our hike with him -- 119 miles from where he lived. Had we not hired Guiido, we would have wasted a lot of time trying to select the best hike and in all probaility, it would not have come near to the perfect hike that he gave us. It was well worth the reasonable fee. Guido had a pleasaant personality. We highly recommend his services as a hiking guide.
