Stop At: Meteora, Meteora, Trikala Region, Thessaly
Join this morning hiking tour to Meteora and fully experience this true marvel accompanied by a knowledgeable local mountain guide. After a convenient pick-up (with our VIP minibus) from your hotel in Kalabaka or Kastraki the hike starts from the foothills of Meteora.
During this guided tour you will have the opportunity to follow the 15 centuries old footsteps of the first monks by walking through “hidden trails” that only the locals know.
You will discover the jaw-dropping “hidden” monastery of Ypapanti and view the ancient Ruins of St. Dimitrios. Additionally you will visit the monastery of Great Meteoron or Varlaam (depending on the day of the hike) and learn all about the history and legends directly from your local mountain guide.
Last but not least, you will have the time to enjoy the breathtaking panoramic views and capture some amazing photos that you will cherish forever.

We were fortunate to have Christos as our guide for our hike. He taught us about the various plants and herbs in the woods…very informative and fun! Beautiful trails. He has been named « teacher « and rightly so. Highly recommend.

The hike started in Kastraki and ended at the sunset rock. In all, we were hiking about 3.5 hours. Nicklaus was an amazing guide! Highly recommend him…

Last week we went hiking with Giorgos from Meteora trip. We made the reservation last minute, the night before. Thanks to their good communication and organisation this was no problem. We had an amazing time hiking to the Meteora monasteries, two of whom we visited. The local guide gave us a lot of interesting information, not only about the monasteries, but also about the surrounding nature and Greece in general. We were picked up and dropped of at the hotel. We highly recommend this experience to everyone who wants to get the maximum out of his Meteora visit.
