Note that I did the Crime and Punishment Jail Tour as opposed to the Haunted Jail tour (and I did so solo as my friend was a bit of a chicken). I thought it was really great - my guide, Erin, was very friendly and knowledgeable and I really enjoyed learning more about the prison and its incredibly inhumane conditions.A very interesting tour in which the reality was sometimes more scary than the ghost stories. Great storytelling by our guide, Sarah!

I've lived my whole life in Ottawa and had never been inside the old Ottawa Jail, so was thrilled when my husband suggested it. Hard to believe this was a working jail until 1972. The prison cells are so cramped, I can't imagine what it would have been like. Our guide, Celeste was very knowledgeable and friendly. Good system in place for COVID. Building very interesting. Also enjoyed the ghost stories. Would definitely recommend.Sara was a great tour guide. We really enjoyed her animation and how she would tell the stories. We do wish we had a bit more time at each “location” in the jail to take more pictures/video’s. Would be nice to see if we could add to those ghost stories. But overall, a great experience.
