Overview

Goshuin means a "red seal" is a seal given as a proof of visitation to a shrine or temple. The name of the shrine or temple, the name of the principal image, and the date of the visit are written in ink. You can make an eco-friendly upcycle goshuin book (stamp book) by reusing scraps generated in the kimono manufacturing process, used paper bags and wrapping paper as materials. If you visit shrines and temples with your hand-made Goshuin book, you will have a deeper memory. We will deliver valuable time that can only be experienced in Japan to tourists visiting Japan.

【Activity description】
A craft course which you can make an original stamp book in Asakusa.
You can make an eco-friendly upcycle stamp book by reusing scraps generated in the kimono manufacturing process, used paper bags and wrapping paper as materials.
Choose your favourite pattern from the materials and make your own favourite stamp book!
The staff will support you, so even beginners can enjoy creating.
If you visit shrines and temples with your hand-made Goshuin book, you will have a deeper memory.

●What is upcycling
It is to give new added value to things and disused items that would normally be discarded, upgrade them to new products, and give them a new life. Upcycling is a keyword that should be paid attention to in order to switch from a consumer society where things are produced and consumed in large quantities to a sustainable society.

①Choose your favourite materials which are to paste on the cover.
②Cut and paste it on the cover using the gule.
③Paste the cover and the bellows text together.
④Write a title on the cover.

I'm so glad I found this! The ladies were wonderful and explained every step. There's so much material to choose from. I enjoyed myself so much, I stayed longer for a second class! (Mizuhiki - which was just as fun!)
