Cemaliye was very helpful and approachable. You can tell she knows a lot about Cyprus and its history. Will definitely recommend her!

Sirin was our fabulous tour guide for the (half) day! From the second she picked us up, we were learning about Cypriot history, both ancient and current. Of course she also had plenty of information to share about St. Hillarion and Bellapais - we were guided for part of the tours, and had some free time to explore & take pictures. The sites were both incredibly beautiful, with so much history. I would recommend this tour, and Sirin, to anyone! We had a very interesting tour of St Hillarion and Bellapais, two lovely sites in North Cyprus. We had a very interesting tour of St Hillarion and Bellapais, two lovely sites in North Cyprus. As we staying in south Nicosia close to Ledras Street crossing, our guide suggested meeting just on the other side of the border crossing. This was no problem and we easily met our guide. As she drove us to the sites, she provided an interesting counterpoint to the Cyprus situation, having been born in the North after the 1974 separation. St. Hillarion was an amazing site and climbing to the top was a good workout and resulted in many great photos. It is a fantastic guide up to St Hillarion Castle and if it is fine there are great views. It is a fantastic guide up to St Hillarion Castle and if it is fine there are great views. We went on a day when the mists were right down, which gave the castle an eerie feeling. We could not see up to the top part of the castle, but then the mists cleared and the sun came out it was glorious. They have really tried hard to make this visit enjoyable. There is a small exhibition in the Great Hall and lower down a display about the castle. The ruins are extensive but be very careful if you go to the top most part of the castle, particularly if you have young children. I though that this is well worth the effort. I found Bellapais a little disappointing. It is very ruined and you have to use your imagination.
