This is a typical itinerary for this product
Stop At: Sian Ka'an Biosphere Reserve, Mexico
Sian Ka’an is a tropical wetland paradise – on this tour we visit a thin strip of land bordered by empty stretches of beach, lagoons and lush vegetation on a boat ride that takes us across diverging coastal ecosystems, through mangrove forest and out to the coral reef.
Duration: 3 hours
Stop At: 77766 Boca Paila, Q.R., Mexico
8km inside the biosphere, where we board a small boat to visit Boca Paila – a vital point of convergence for many animals, where we have the chance to spot the resident birdlife, crocodiles, a plethora of fish and even the rare manatee. Weather permitting, we then head out a short distance on open water to snorkel on the Mesoamerican Barrier reef, where you will be delighted by the healthy corals and fish in abundance.
Your homemade lunch will be waiting on the beach when we return and we will relax among the coconut groves for a while and enjoy a swim in the sea if you like, before hitting the road back.
Duration: 1 hour
Stop At: 77766 Campechen, Q.R., Mexico
Campechen lagoon is the last and largest lagoon of the Sian Ka´an Bisophere. Here we will board a boat and go explore ecosystems and wildlife.
Duration: 2 hours

A great way to spend a day spotting manatees, crocodiles, and birds. Snorkeling on the Mesoamerican Barrier Reef was a very special experience! Our guide Lea was so friendly, charming and full of information about the history and wildlife in the area. She was very caring and was always checking in to make sure everyone was comfortable, especially when snorkeling. I don’t have much experience but I felt like she was always watching everyone and making sure we were doing OK. Thank you Lea and our boat captain Alex!A must experience in the Rivera Maya, the Sian Ka’an reserve is true natural wonder, the road is bumpy and long but deserves the effort. Great tour operator and guide ( Karen) she had full knowledge, kind and funny great person.

We did the 1/2 day SIAN KAAN tour with Alondra as our guide and Tiberio as our driver and it was PERFECT! Do not skip climbing to the top of the watch tower because seeing the lagoon from that vantage point is a sight like no other. So many shades of blue and green!! Entering the mangrove tunnel to get to the “lazy river” was truly magical! Alondra was so much fun and very knowledgeable of all things Mayan. And the food she prepared was so delicious!! This tour is everything you want all wrapped up in 5 hours- ancient ruins, hiking through the jungle, boat ride across crystal clear waters and floating down an ancient canal among succulents, orchids and egrets (we even saw a baby crocodile!) Thanks Alondra for making it a tour we will never forgetThis half-day tour was so much fun! Felipe was an awesome guide and host - I found him very funny and knowledgeable. We loved this tour. Fantastic variety of activities with our friendly, knowledgeable guide Lily. The ruins were really interesting and very quiet compared to other ruins we visited. We were very fortunate to see howler monkeys. The highlight was floating down the Mayan canals, a real life lazy river. The lunch was also great. Felt very safe at all times. Would definitely use this tour company again and recommend to others. Our tour did get moved due to low numbers so maybe make sure you don't leave it to the last day of the trip but we had lots of notice and the communication was great. Perfect sized group on the day of 9 people. After doing a first Cenote Tour with Mexico Kan Tours, I booked the Sian Kaan Discovery tour and I just loved it. It was a beatiful half day tour by boat, with a knowledgeable guide, who shared with us his passion about the environment and the wildlife of the region. I really recommend.
