Pass By: Sykia, Sykia, Halkidiki Region, Central Macedonia
A CAVE YOU DON’T WANNA MISS Sykia it’s a magical cave in Milos. The special thing about this cave is that it is open on the top and the reflection of the sun goes inside, making it a wonderful spectacle. The cave it’s 5 meters high and 20 meters wide. The top part collapsed, with the result of creating a”hole” on the top of the cave where you can see the sky. The name of this place in Greek, means, “Fig tree”. It got it because very close to the open-top cave there is a fig tree. Sykia cave is only accessible by boat. Some big boats can’t access the cave inside but you will go as close as possible to see this impressive phenomenon. On the inside of the cave there is a small corner of pebbles and rocks that look like a tiny strip of a beach.

Alex and his crew, Ana and Tasos, provided a fantastic experience on his catamaran around Milos. I arranged the 6-hour cruise for six people on very short notice and Alex was waiting for us at the dock the next morning. The scenery was spectacular and the crew was so friendly and fun. Alex took us through caves on his dingy and we also made three other stops for refreshing swims in the clear water. The lunch and snacks were delicious. Loads of laughs and dancing to traditional Greek music on the return. Truly one of the best days of our two week vacation. Highly, recommended! We booked Trinity Yachting through our hotel for a private tour of Milos - and it was amazing! We booked Trinity Yachting through our hotel for a private tour of Milos - and it was amazing! The crew was awesome and very knowledgeable - especially our captain Nikolas (he was awesome)! We loved snorkeling in the crystalline teal sea and visiting Kleftiko and navigating through all the caves on our dinghy! All the food provided, especially lunch was excellent! Since it was a private tour I wish I had reached out ahead of time to discuss the itinerary - as it was pre-set for us - and I 'may' have swapped one of the amazing snorkeling spots out for trying to take the dinghy into Sikia Cave (which wasn't on our itinerary) but nonetheless everywhere we stopped was amazing and we had an excellent time! This experience was great…! The staff and skipper are very friendly and kind! The places which we went were amazing! I want to go again with this boat! Thank you for this amazing experience!
