The train and floating markets were such a unique experience. Yui was a fantastic guide and taught us lots about the markets and the history of Thailand in general, as-well as telling us about other fun things we could do during our trip. We made it early enough to actually get on the train to the train market which was a fantastic view. We also saw the sea salt farm which was really interesting. Yui advised us on the best food at all of the markets - the mango smoothies at the train market, and the mango sticky rice and coconut pancakes at the floating markets were delicious. Definitely something not to miss if staying in Bangkok! We had a nice tour with TumTum as our guide. A very kind (and funny!) lady. The driver of the mini bus was also very nice. We had a nice tour with TumTum as our guide. A very kind (and funny!) lady. The driver of the mini bus was also very nice. The tour is well organized, with water on the road. Food is not included. The train market is very nice, it is funny to see the train crossing by so close with the market stands. The floating boat market is also nice, although it is clearly a very toeristic attraction. But nice to see, so overall a nice dayOverall the tour was excellent. We asked for a pick up and a taxi came to our hotel on time. Overall the tour was excellent. We asked for a pick up and a taxi came to our hotel on time. We met the rest of the group at River City where we boarded a bus with great AC. The ride to the train was over an hour and it was great to see the outskirts of Bangkok. When we got closer we went through and saw many coconut and other fruit trees. We were take to the first stop of the train which is adjacent to the salt fields so we saw them harvest salt (seasonal). We boarded the old train for a 1/2 hour ride to the train market which is a sight to behold. The merchants pull their product and canopies 8 times a day and you can stand by the track and shop - more touristy stuff and fruits/vegetables and fish - as the train goes in and out. We then took the bus to the floating market which is also a sight to see how people live in the canals. They sell stuff right off the boats. We had lunch there which tasted great. Then on to the bus again for a 2 hour ride back to the MBK mall. The tour was great but it would have been great to have more time even 15-20 more minutes at the train and floating market. Also, it would have been easier to pick up and drop off at the River so we could catch a boat as traffic around MBK was heavy and we were too tired to do any shopping at the mall. The tour guide was very very nice but her English was very difficult to understand. The driver on our tour was great. Thanks for having ice cold water for us all day that was helpful.Sara is the best. So friendly and sweet. She is waiting for everyone and is very patient. She make clear statements.
