Half-Day Lake Lucerne Country Walk
Overview
Walk past the villa where Richard Wagner composed many famous operas before taking the local bus through a neighborhood of former grand summer villas. Follow a meandering walking trail along a panoramic ridge giving you views of the lake and the surrounding majestic Alps.
Visit an organic farm, pass by vineyards and lovely old wooden Swiss chalets down to the small village of Winkel with the oldest school house of the region. Return to Lucerne by local bus.

I highly recommend ECHO Trails and the half-day Lake Lucerne Country Walk. We took a 10 day vacation in Switzerland and Northern Italy to celebrate my daughter's high school graduation and the Lake Lucerne Country Walk was her favorite part of the entire trip. The guides are very friendly and very knowledgeable of the local area and highlights to see. The walk was very pleasant with outstanding scenery, and not too steep or strenuous. The bio farm and interacting with the young calves was a highlight for both of my daughters. The refreshment break at a nice cafe beside the lake with the unique Swiss soft drink was also a fond remembrance.We booked this tour for our family of 5 (2 parents and 3 college-age kids). We booked this tour for our family of 5 (2 parents and 3 college-age kids). Andrea met us at our hotel in Lucerne. We walked a short distance to the train station and took a short bus ride to a suburb of Lucerne. From there we began our walk through the countryside. It was an absolutely beautiful morning, and Andrea guided us through the woods and farms, educating us about the area and people along the way. He was very easy to talk to--even got my very quiet 20 year-old son chatting with him! I'd like to add that we had our tour originally booked for two days earlier, but the weather was completely uncooperative. Andrea was very willing to reschedule us for a morning tour two days later when we had absolutely perfect weather. Can't say enough good things about this tour, our guide and the company. Despite finishing the walk early, Ezra took us through "Old Town" and showed much of the history and area to help my wife and I understand the area.
