What to expect

Pass By: Wailua River State Park, Highway 56, Wailua, Kauai, HI
Paddle the majestic Wailua River for 2 miles each way (4 miles total round trip), original home of the first Hawaiians, who paddled 1500 miles from the Marquesas Islands to Kaua`i almost 1500 years ago. Hear the legends and learn about the flora and fauna of Kauai`s most sacred area.
Stop At: Secret Falls (Uluwehi Falls), Wailua, Kauai, HI
After hiking 1 1/4 miles through the rain forest our guides will take clients to Secret Falls also known as Uluwehi Falls. This beautiful waterfall cascades 110 feet into a refreshing swimming hole, where they can go for a dip and enjoy a terrific lunch! You will then hike 1 1/4 miles back to your kayak (2 1/2 miles of hiking round trip). TRAIL CONDITIONS CAN VARY DEPENDING ON WEATHER. THERE WILL BE 4 RIVER CROSSINGS WITH LOOSE ROCKS IN RIVER BED THAT YOU WILL NEED TO CROSS ON YOUR TREK TO THE WATERFALL. AND KEEP IN MIND YOU WILL CROSS THEM ON THE TREK BACK AS WELL. FOOTWEAR IS COMPLETELY SUBMERGED IN WATER DURING YOUR ADVENTURE.

We love the kayaking then hiking to the secret waterfalls. Which are not so secret. There were a lot of people there but plenty of photo opportunities. They did provide a light lunch that was okay but had a beautiful spread with flowers. Would do it again.

I was hesitant to do a tour vs just rent a kayak and go but I’m so glad I decided on the tour. First - we were staying at Kauai Shores Hotel so we were able to walk next door. I picked the 7:00 time after reading reviews best to go early to beat crowds. Don’t hesitate to do the early one - if your from the main land you will be up anyway due to time change lol. We were back around noon and had the whole day left for other things. Our guideThomas was so friendly and even laid the lunch out so pretty. We expected to grab a sandwich and go. Worth every penny and so glad we did it!No real memorable moments. Due to weather we didn't get to go to the waterfalls. You can jayak on a river anywhere the whole point was to see a waterfall so very disappointed.

My wife and I did the Secret Falls Kayak & Hike during our honeymoon. This tour was one of the highlights of our time visiting Kauai! Zach was our tour guide - he was very knowledgeable and did a great job of making the tour fun and entertaining. Neither my wife nor I had any significant prior experience with kayaking but we picked it up quickly and found the 4 mile journey to be easier than we had expected. We would definitely recommend this as a fun experience for couples or families!Rainbow Kayak Tours was great. Awesome little adventure !
