Cruise along the forested floor of a massive volcanic crater as you explore Sete Cidades with an experienced local guide. In a rugged 4x4 vehicle, ride between sparkling lakes and bounce down dirt roads that lead to sweeping viewpoints of this stunning and dramatic landscape.
Get picked up from your hotel in Ponta Delgada, where you can buckle into the seat of an off-road vehicle perfectly suited to tackle the area's rural roads and country lanes. As you ride, learn about Sete Cidades' geologic profile. In the center of a volcanic crater that stretches for over 3 miles (5 km), the village's lake-scattered valleys are filled with forests that emerged after an eruption in 500 AD

The island is truly beautiful. Our tour guide spoke excellent English and had a wealth of knowledge about every aspect of the island. Due to the small size of our group he tailored the tour to our preferences. He drove a 4 x 4. This permitted us to access the crater rim road and many of the small country roads in the Sete area. Many people took the large bus tours and had a very limited tour on the main highways only. He even showed us an excellent restaurant in town after we returned. We highly recommend this company for your tour of the Azores.This is the best way to really see the hidden corners of the island Our guide was very sweet and patient He was very knowledgeable about the island Had a wonderful time

This was the best tour we took! Delfim was the perfect guide for Sete Cidades. He has a keen interest in the volcanic activity that created the islands and loves to share the knowledge. Being in the jeep instead of a bus meant not only did we get to go on roads along the rim of the entire crater, we got to go off-road down in the crater, as well. If Delfim asks if you want to see the jeep be a boat, say YES!

We took a wonderful half day tour with Telmo from Ponta Delgada to Sete Cidades. Telmo was incredibly knowledgable and took his time to make sure we had a great experience. The sites were amazing and he was able to take us places that not all tours can take you because of the vehicles they use....

We wish we had more time to book another tour but will definitely do so when we return next year. Telmo also made an excellent recommendation for dinner in Ponta Delgada at a place that more caters to the locals. Jose was our excellent guide and driver! We had arrived that morning, so this was our first adventure. I would highly recommend this tour to help get acclimated to the island. We enjoyed Jose sharing his wealth of knowledge and love of the Azores. We had a really foggy day so the views from the rim of Sete Cidades were nonexistent. Jose did not disappoint! He knew all the back roads through pastures and took us down to the bottom of the caldera. We walked and drove along the blue lake and the green lake. He showed us and told us about the tunnel that was dug from the shoreline to the lake. We drove on the ocean shoreline, went to the thermal swimming area and walked along the ancient old volcano lava and pumus. Excellent tour!
