Half Day Horseback Wine Tour
Overview
We stop for a light lunch at The Table (thetablerestaurant.co.za) at De Meye Wine Farm (demeye.co.za) where we can relax under the trees, while the horses graze nearby. Lunch consists of locally produced bread, cheese, ham, salad, olives and sweet treats!
Spectacular scenery is literally around every corner, and there is no better way to experience the Cape Winelands than between the ears of a horse!
Our horses are absolutely the heart of our business. We work with them energetically through connection and natural horsemanship which means they are well trained, and gentle natured. We never ride the same trail twice, so expect a wonderful ride!
Please note a weight limit of 95kgs applies.

What to expect
We set off from our base Vredenheim winery as soon as everyone is comfortable & happy with their steeds.
We ride across 4 winefarms where we have the opportunity to see local deer, endless bird species and 360° views of the Winelands and the spectacular mountains around it.
Experienced riders will have plenty opportunities for trots & canters through the vineyards, while less experienced riders will be kept safe by sticking to a gentle stroll.
The views are spectacular, and the horses are well trained, so regardless of your experience, everyone gets a great ride.
Lunch is usually at Boschkloof estate or Vredenheim estate. (lunch and wine tasting for own account)
Guests are invited to relax under ancient oak trees, enjoy the gardens, enjoy splendid food and sip on some of our best wine, all while the horses relax nearby. It truely is a slice of heaven! A crackling fire will be going in winter.
After lunch we mount up and take a gentle stroll back home.

Wir haben nur die zweistündige Tour durch die Weinberge gemacht, da wir zwei Anfänger dabei hatten. Der Ausritt hat uns allen sehr viel Spaß gemacht und die Pferde waren unglaublich lieb und sahen sehr gepflegt aus. Uns wurden die Pferde nach Größe und Gewicht zugeteilt, für die beiden unerfahrenen gab es eine kurze Einweisung und dann ging es los. This was a fantastic experience! We picked the half-day horseback ride and rode throughout the different vineyards for about five hours. Halfway through the ride, we stopped at a winery to taste seven different wines and some amazing food. We liked the wine so much that my wife purchased a few bottles to take with us. We are not experienced riders, and they took the time to make sure we were safe and having a great time. The views were breathtaking!
