this is the center core area of Japanese concession. we will cycle through the boutique, jewelry shop, gallery, antique shop and old book stores.

Found a hole in the private club for morning tea that was fabulous. Cycled through the Old Town much to the amusement of the residents. The Chinese are so welcoming and polite, whilst many do not speak English their smiles tell it all. Highly recommended. I had Mayfer as my guide and she took us through the Japanese and British concessions. Once I found my way to the meeting point, Mayfer was very welcoming from the start. She helped me to get fitted to my bike and adjusted the seat down since I am quite short. Then when the entire group had arrived, we received guidelines on biking around in Shanghai and instructions on biking as a group. Mayfer was super high energy and enthusiastic throughout the tour. She took us through the interesting streets and laneways ("longtang") focussing on the former Japanese concession then making our way to the former British concession and the Yu garden before heading back the same way. All the while Mayfer was pointing out the interesting features and history. She had a lot of information to provide. We occasionally made stops and got more detailed explanations of the history and cultural context of the surroundings. Throughout this, Mayfer took a lot of great pictures for us, showing the background scenery as well, and sent us the photos afterwards. Overall it was a fantastic and thrilling experience navigating through Shanghai traffic and seeing the city this way! Though I should note that it takes a bit of endurance to last through the entire trip. To sum up, the service was great and I completely recommend this experience.

My friend and I had booked the Half-Day Bike Tour through the 3 concessions of Shanghai. We had Mayfer as our guide and we had an incredible experience. Mayfer did an awesome job preparing and doing the tour. She started with preparing the right size of bicycles and helmets for relatively tall people 185cm and 190cm. The bikes were in a good shape so riding was no problem.
Mayfer showed us a variety of areas and explained the backstory of the concessions. Also. she allowed us to stop from time to time at spots we found interesting. We didnt have to bother with taking pictures as she did all the job and sent me the pictures afterwards.
The trip exprience was so great and beyond our expectations. The service Mayfer provided was perfect. I recommend anyoune who want to explore Shanghai to take this trip. You get to see places you wont see all by yourself and you get also a guide who takes care of everything. We are very satisfied.
