We used ESI Alpe D'Huez for childrens group lessons. From the start ESI were excellent with communication. Replying to emails very quickly and advising us on the different levels and what would be best for our 8 year old son. The 10.15am start time worked excellently for us giving us that extra bit of time in the mornings to get ready. Our son was incredibly anxious about joining a ski school but the instructor (Umberto) was excellent from day one and immediately put him at ease. He looked forward to going every morning and developed so much in the week. He was incredibly proud of himself by the end of the 6 lessons and now can't wait to return. A great instructor and team makes such a difference and meant that as parents we could enjoy our time on the slopes knowing he was happy.Had private lessons all week. Gaia was amazing - the best teacher. Built lots of confidence and taught lots. Very friendly. The office was also very responsive and helpful with requests. would highly recommend.

I have had poor instructors over the years but Fede at ESI was really brilliant. He provided me with great confidence from my first lesson. He was very knowledgeable about the area of Alpe d’Huez and taught me about reading the slopes as well as technique. He was very patient and corrected bad habits I have previously been taught. I had a wonderful week and my skiing has improved so much to the point that I am confident on reds. I would highly recommend ESI Alpe d’Heuz. Thank you Fede and the whole team at ESI Alpe d’Huez. This review is mainly about the Prosneige ski boot hire shop, rather than the lessons. This review is mainly about the Prosneige ski boot hire shop, rather than the lessons. Two days into our holiday,I went into the Prosneige shop to book a private lesson because I was not feeling good about my skiing but while I was waiting I was looking at some shin gel pads because my daughter's boots were really hurting her shins. The pads were 30 euros and the guy in the shop, Julien asked if he could first check my daughter's boots (we had rented them from Intersport) because he said he could tell just by looking at her, that they were too big! He properly measured her feet & said that the boots she'd been given were a full size too big & too wide for her feet and that buying the gel pads would not solve the problem, he described it as, "putting a pad over a small stone in your boot, instead of just taking the stone out". He suggested we try the boots he had given her for a day to see if they were any better, my daughter said there was a marked improvement so we kept them for the remaining 4 days & were charged a VERY reasonable price. I was very unhappy with my skiing all holiday and so on my final day, I made the decision to go back to Julien to see if my boots were the problem because although they were comfortable, I felt that my foot was not stable inside the boot. Julien happily measured me and gave me some boots which I skied in on our final day and felt much more secure & therefore happier with my skiing, I just wish I'd changed them earlier in the week. The customer service that Julien gave was excellent & the time he spent measuring & checking the boots resulted in us feeling really good on our skis. The Intersport shop were we had originally rented our skis & boots, did not measure our feet in any way, they simply asked our size but Julien said that he never rents out boots without first measuring the customer because the shape of the feet as well as the size, effects what boots he gives people. I will in future, always try to go to a Prosneige shop or another small independent hire shop where they take more time to properly measure you. I just hope they turn out to be as professional, thorough & friendly as Julien at Prosneige L'Alpe d'Huez!
