Guided Kayak Tour on San Juan Island
Overview
Although just one mile south of Friday Harbor, Griffin Bay is a world away from it all! This trip offers peace and quiet and superb views of glacier-covered Mt. Baker and the Olympic Mountain range. Unhindered by strong tidal currents, it is an ideal trip for families and anyone wanting to experience sea kayaking.
We will explore picturesque Dinner Island and it’s colony of chubby resident harbor seals, then turn south toward quiet coves. You may see bald eagles, Dall’s or Harbor porpoise, river otters, mink and oodles of migratory sea birds like scoters, harlequin ducks, loons and mergansers along with our local herons, cormorants, gulls and kingfishers!

This was our first guided kayak tour but it definitely won't be our last! Our guide was great at teaching us how to maneuver our kayaks and pointing out local sights and wildlife. We saw so many shorebirds, a couple of seals, and even a little river otter family! The Griffin Bay is a nice little protected area so you don't have to worry too much about big waves from ferries or other boats. Overall, this was a great tour with very knowledgeable guides, we'd choose this company again anytime!KRAEL12

I visited San Juan Island last summer with some friends who have never been kayaking before. We decided to sign up for this 3 hour tour that picks you up right in Friday Harbor, no car or experience required! The guide was extremely professional and friendly throughout the entire tour. He provided instruction before we even got on the water which was perfect for my friends who'd never been before. Once we got out on the water, the guide provided lots of information about the region and the wildlife that we saw - including the chunky seals hanging out on the smaller island off shore! I cannot recommend San Juan Kayaking Expedions enough for the professionalism, customer service, and passion for the sport!jazmin2098
