What to expect

Itinerary
This is a typical itinerary for this product

Pass By: Isola Palmaria, Porto Venere Italy

Palmaria has a vaguely triangular shape and has a surface area of just under 2 km2. Its highest point, the "summit", reaches 180 meters above sea level.

The highest part of the island slopes rather gently on the northern side (the one facing Portovenere) and on the eastern one (opposite La Spezia). These slopes are covered with holm oak woods and Mediterranean scrub, which alternate with ancient terraces.

The western side of Palmaria is instead characterized by vertiginous cliffs of clear rock, which follow one another overhanging the sea.

The only nucleus of houses that could be defined as an inhabited center is Terrizzo, which has roughly fifty inhabitants. On the rest of the island, except for the hordes of summer tourists, human presence is very limited.

Pass By: Portovenere, 19025, Porto Venere Italy

Among the many pearls that Liguria proudly displays, Portovenere is one of the most appreciated of all. Located in the Gulf of Poets, a short distance from La Spezia and therefore also from Tuscany, this picturesque fishing village constantly attracts thousands of tourists, in every season of the year.

Stop At: Grotta di Byron, 19025, Porto Venere Italy

Byron's cave tells an interesting story that still fascinates the most curious tourists today. Inspiring muse for the English poet, the sea cave located in Porto Venere is part of the Unesco World Heritage Sites. So let's discover all the beauties and curiosities kept in this magical and poetic place.

Stop At: Manarola, Manarola, Cinque Terre, Italian Riviera, Liguria

Manarola is a fraction of the municipality of Riomaggiore, in the province of La Spezia, and constitutes one of the Cinque Terre. It is a truly suggestive village with the typical colored Genoese houses with the roof terrace that become one with the landscape and the rocky outcrop overlooking the sea.
The entire coastal area is characterized by hills of olive trees and grape plantations, and by kilometers of low walls. Manarola is also famous for its wine, one of the finest in Liguria, called Sciacchetrà.

Duration: 10 minutes

Stop At: Corniglia, Corniglia, Cinque Terre, Italian Riviera, Liguria

Visiting Corniglia means opening the view to unique panoramas of the Ligurian Sea, which appears in the distance between the pastel houses and the intense blue of the sky. The town is connected by 370 steps that lead from the Corniglia train station to the historic centre. The climb is quite demanding, but equally impressive. However, if you think you can't make it, there is a bus that guarantees frequent trips both going up and down from Corniglia.

Duration: 10 minutes

Stop At: Vernazza, Vernazza, Cinque Terre, Italian Riviera, Liguria

Overlooking the most authentic stretch of the Ligurian coast and perched on a rocky outcrop, Vernazza is one of the villages that cannot be missed if you decide to visit the Cinque Terre.

Vernazza is a small marvel, a fortified citadel squeezed between the sea and the mountains and distributed around the small port. The pastel-coloured houses, the churches and small monuments, the carrugi and narrow alleys overlooked by shops and small shops, make the town truly breathtaking.

Duration: 10 minutes

Stop At: Monterosso al Mare, Monterosso al Mare, Cinque Terre, Italian Riviera, Liguria

A bridge about 100 meters long divides Monterosso into 2 parts: on one side the residential area (Zona di Fegina) with the central station, a long beach and some hospitality businesses; on the other the Porto Vecchio, the historic center of the town crossed by the typical caruggi.

Monterosso is the largest village in the Cinque Terre and is a perfect blend of history and nature.
It preserves delightful churches with black and white bands, the typical Ligurian style, and the signs of past naval battles. Beautiful hiking trails start from Monterosso, such as the famous Via dell'Amore. The town's identifying symbol is the famous Giant, an original 14-metre-high statue depicting the god Neptune. Also to admire an incredible view, in an elevated position there is the Capuchin Convent, not to be missed.
The remaining time of the tour will be spent transporting passengers between the attractions visited.

Even though the weather was too rough to go to Cinque Terra, we had a lovely day seeing other towns with our captain Fredo. He was just lovely and fitted our group perfectly. He was the consummate host.
