Grape Escape Rhine Valley - Personal wine tours from Frankfurt & Mainz
Overview
When it comes to the world of wine Germany has been in the wine game since the Romans and offers some of the world's most elegant and aromatic wine varieties, most notably for the noble Riesling. But getting your hands on a bottle outside of Germany can be hard to find. The regions best-kept wine secrets are rarely exported as locals love every last drop. This is why Weinköpfe exists. We believe wine was made for sharing. My German wine tours aim to share with you the best quality wines, most beautiful views, historical sights and culinary delights the regions of Germany have to offer.
My tours are always personal and I keep groups small. Like you I get real winelovers. Please request if you want your tour PRIVATE. An additional fee maybe charged based on season.

Carl was knowledgeable, enthusiastic, and personable. We learned so much about Rhine River Riesling wines while having a great time! The tour was tailored around our tastes. We came away feeling very educated on Riesling. We went places we would never have found on our own. Driving through the vineyards on bike trails was magnificent.

I extended my stay in Frankfurt for one more day after i read the reviews of Carl trip, and its really really worth it. I have no enough words to explain that tour, simply CARL is a 7 stars tour guide. we started the journey with Champaign opening, had an amazing conversation along the trip he knows everything about the wine and growing it, we visited the wineries as planned tried the wines and listened to the stories, toke me to sightseeing also, and we had traditional lunch in front of the Reine. Finally he dropped me back to the hotel and gifted me a bottle of wine how nice was that.Carl was an excellent host and guide. Very knowledgable and I tasted a very large number of wines at three different vineyards. Would highly recommend this tour

I only had two days for leisure as I was in town for business later in the week and looking for something fun to do before then. This was easily the highlight of my trip. Carl is the guide and he's great. He reached out to me one week before the tour to get an understanding of what types of grapes I liked and understand my level of wine knowledge. Based upon the feedback from me and his other guests, he then designed the trip. The tour started off with some sparkling Riesling and a 20+ minute drive out to the Rheingau. During that time he shared with us the history of the region and his backstory. From there we were off to our first vineyard which focused on the traditional Rieslings. After that we went to a second vineyard which also had Rieslings along with some other varietals and blends. After a few hours of wine tasting, we needed some food and had a lovely lunch at a spot that overlooked the Rhine. Finally we capped the day with a third vineyard an enjoyable ride home. I would definitely recommend this tour to anyone and would take another tour with Carl. Great time, great wine.
