We'll visit Positano, the most well-known summer resort area on the whole peninsula where you have to be sure to buy one of the straw handbags or handmade sandals for which Positano is famous. Amalfi, the capital of an ancient maritime republic and a current UNESCO World Heritage Site; Naples with the historical center and the Royal Palace; the wonders of the UNESCO World listed archaeological site of Pompeii and Herculaneum; Capri, with Augustus Gardens, the famous Piazzetta, Anacapri and Blue Grotto; Paestum and its temples, another UNESCO site, founded by the anci; Salerno, famous as earliest university of Medieval Europe called “The Medical School of Salerno”; Caserta with Royal Palace and its park. Don’t miss to taste a pizza, a fresh buffalo mozzarella, a warm sfogliatella, drinking the famous Limoncello.

Salerno ist eine schöne Stadt, typisches Süditalien ohne allzu große Touristenströme. Die Amalfiküste war im März geradezu menschenleer, wahrscheinlich wegen des kühlen Wetters. An den Hotspots traten die Touristen dann gehäuft auf. Die Unterkunft privat hat ausgereicht, jedoch gab es weder Eßeck...
Salerno ist eine schöne Stadt, typisches Süditalien ohne allzu große Touristenströme. Die Amalfiküste war im März geradezu menschenleer, wahrscheinlich wegen des kühlen Wetters. An den Hotspots traten die Touristen dann gehäuft auf. Die Unterkunft privat hat ausgereicht, jedoch gab es weder Eßecke noch Kühlschrank im Zimmer. Wir sind mit dem Auto bis Bozen gefahren und dann weiter mit dem Express-Zug Freccia Rossa über Rom (Autostellplatz in der Tiefgarage am Schalter bei Einfahrt im voraus zahlen, sonst wird der Tagestarif fällig). In Salerno haben wir ein Leihauto genommen (voraus gebucht). Bei den Zugtickets kamen wir mit Frühbuchen und jeweils einmal Umsteigen (Rom und Bologna) auf 300 Euro hin und zurück, geht aber auch noch günstiger. Insgesamt war das Essen im Restaurant für deutsche Verhältnisse überteuert. In Bozen ging es mit 70Euro für 2 ja noch, aber in Rom sind wir in eine Touri-Falle am Vatikan geraten und mit 90 Euro untergegangen, dafür waren wir in Salerno mit Pizza und Brotzeit vom Metzger umso sparsamer. Dass wir an der Amalfiküste ebenfalls abgezockt wurden, war schon vorher klar - geht halt nicht anders. Insgesamt war es ein sehr schöner Kurztrip, leider mit nur wenigen trockenen Tagen, die dafür umso schöner. Für die Zugfahrt muß jeweils mit einem Tag gerechnet werden. Jederzeit wieder!
