Stop At: Thingvellir National Park, Thingvellir Iceland
The day starts with visit to the Thingvellir valley. A place of amazing natural beauty where the land has been torn apart by the separation of the North American and Eurasian tectonic plates. This UNESCO World Heritage site is home to the largest fresh water lake in Iceland and is the beating heart of Icelandic pride, being the birthplace for the longest standing parliament on the world.

Stop At: Strokkur, Selfoss 806 Iceland
The journey then continues to the Geysir park which is filled with bubbling and steaming geothermal springs. The anticipation builds as you approach the viewing point for the Strokkur Geyser, where the ground trembles and almost without warning, the geyser erupts spectacularly to a heights of 35 meters.
Duration: 45 minutes
Stop At: Gullfoss Waterfall, Blaskogabyggd Iceland
Then you continue to the magnificent and majestic Golden Waterfall or Gullfoss as the locals call it. As water melts from the second largest glacier in Iceland, Langjökull, it reaches Gullfoss where it falls 32 meters down into a canyon with a thunderous roar. An amazing site and favourite of visitors.

We picked this tour because we wanted to experience the Golden Circle without being gone for 10-12 hours like other tours. This gave us enough time to enjoy the sights without losing the entire day.

Great day organised by a friendly tour company. Tour guide - Ziggy had outstanding amount of energy and created a fun and relaxing ride in which he explained the points of interests and helped me take photos as I was on my own. Recommend this tour as it's near enough a staple when travelling to Iceland. He also let us stop by a see some Icelandic horses as a free bonus where we petted them and fed them.We took this tour on Aug.19. The guide for the Golden circle portion was excellent. We took this tour on Aug.19. The guide for the Golden circle portion was excellent. We returned to the depot after the golden circle portion and the blue lagoon trip followed. This is where wecedperienced confusion. The guide did not tell us what was to happen next and whether anyone was leading us. We wed4ctold there was a bus over there. We went to the bus but the driver was not willing to say much and did not appear to understand English. At the end of the visit to the blue lagoon there wa confusion about which bus to take and no one seemed to know. I think the Highland Experience folk should pay more attention to the blue lagoon portion or give it up. The tour guide for the golden circle tour should have 5aken the time to tell us what was happening next. The Golden Circle is about the only way to see some of the countryside if you only have a short time to visit Iceland. The bus drive did spend a lot of time picking up and dropping off people so the time at the various sites, like the Blue Lagoon, was limited. By the way it's a man-made facility so go to the Secret Lagoon for a real hot pot.Our guide and driver were nice and did a good job. Our guide and driver were nice and did a good job. However I wouldn't recommend this tour as yes you get taken to the places they mention but you did really get to see the Tectonic plates - they just pointed that one side was the Eurasian tectonic plate and the other was North American tectonic plate. We were not taken to where you can see them in the water - in the far distance you could see the ones snorkeling. Geysir Geothermal area was interesting. It just takes so long to get around the 3 attractions. I think the advertising of Iceland just doesn't live up to expectations. Maybe if we had not toured Norway before Iceland we may have felt different.
